Jakarta: Local Street Food Tour with MRT Transportation

Our guide, Elsye, made the tour fun and enjoyable. She explained Indonesian food variety, tastes and textures well. She gave us sufficient time to enjoy our orders. it was a good walking tour too. we got to see the big fountain rotunda in central Jakarta as well as Jakarta's first mall, Sarinah.

I had a delicious time on the Jakarta Street Food Scene with MRT Transportation. First of all, I was interested in experiencing the MRT. it was very modern, clean, safe, and easy to use with the help of Nabila, my guide. Nabila, and her assistant Bintang, took me to Blok M Square. The number of street food vendors and different types of food there was amazing. Both Nabila and Bintang explained to me how each food was prepared and how it would taste. They both know a lot about the various food that were available. There were so many delicious options to choose from. Based on their recommendations i chosed a large sampling to include: chicken satay with peanut sauce, sate padang, a really delicious hot ginger drink called STMJ (I suggest everyone trys this), avocado smoothy, lontar fruit. and an egg omelet called kerak telor. it was both a food educational and tummy filling experience. Both Nabila and Bintang spoke great English, so communicating was not an issue. it was well worth the cost and I strongly recommend it.

my parents and I had Sel Vi as our tour guide and she was very warm, accommodating and took us to many of the local spots that we otherwise would not have gone to. we had local food like bakso, satay, murtabak and dessert (fruit in condensed milk) and took the MRT. there were some food that was covered by the package but we were ok to buy any other food that we wanted to try when we saw them. thank you, Sel Vi for being such an excellent guide :-)
