You don't need to go abroad; Sun Moon Lake is already incredibly beautiful. Its beauty is serene, profound, with stunning lake and mountain scenery, often shrouded in misty clouds. It's subtle, understated, yet deeply captivating; not rushed, but wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. Transportation is also convenient; you can take a bus, boat, drive, ride a bicycle, or rent an electric scooter to tour the lake. With the internet so advanced now, booking accommodations, tickets, and shopping are all very convenient. If you don't require top-tier luxury, all the prices are very affordable, allowing you to enjoy yourself without overspending. However, if you're a bit older, you should consider the strain of overexertion. For example, after cycling all day, and with some personal aches, I need to be mindful of my own limits and not overdo it. The ability to travel itself is a treasure. Don't say you don't have money or time. In fact, my past travel experiences were all accomplished under such circumstances. With time, opportunity, and a little bit of money, you can go out and see things. Your perspective on life might change. The redemption center is a little farther north than the pier/port. this service is only available on boats on pier 1. dont worry if your boat leaves right after dropping you off since another comes in after 20-30mins if you dont want to stay at one of the pier stops too long. i wish the captain of the boat/tour guide spoke english, he was telling stories inside the boat when it was all chinese

Cycling around Sun Moon Lake is a very comfortable and relaxing experience. Along the way, you can see the lake and mountains complementing each other, creating a beautiful landscape with fresh air. Most of the cycling routes are well-planned, with dedicated bike paths, making for a safe and smooth ride. You'll pass attractions like Shuishe Pier and Xiangshan Visitor Center, where you can stop to take photos or rest. The overall difficulty of the ride is not high, though some sections have inclines that require a bit more effort. Completing the loop around the lake brings a great sense of accomplishment and allows you to experience the natural beauty of Sun Moon Lake up close. It's a highly recommended outdoor activity.

My first stop was boarding the boat at Ita Thao Pier. Picking up the tickets was easy, and I didn't have to wait too long for the boat. For one stretch, it was just my family on board, and the captain set sail! The captain explained that the next stop needed the boat urgently, so he didn't wait and set off. We unexpectedly had a private charter! 😁 Usually, they wait until the boat is full of passengers before setting sail.

The tickets were quite easy to retrieve from the ticketing booth, and the staff gave instructions on how to use them. It was very convenient to get them via Klook and then to be able to hop on and off the ferry from the three piers. I had a great time at Sun Moon Lake.
