Kota Kinabalu Mga Cruise

Saw proboscis monkeys and so many fireflies. We had bad luck and missed the sunset, but there were countless stars at night. The drive was a bit long, but totally worth it. The tour guide, John, also speaks Chinese!

We had an amazing time on our tour. Our guide Sue Yee was very informative and fun, and Max was a very good driver. we saw proboscis monkeys and fireflies, and the fried bananas were a tasty snack!

Our tour guide Sue Yee is very knowledgeable, very thoughtful, and funny! She has a lot of trivias about monkeys and the other animals in Klias River. We really enjoyed a lot and we happen to see a lot of animals! We saw John (the resident croc), proboscis monkeys, macaques, a swimming crocodile, and a bayawak resting in a tree. The dinner buffet is great and also the afternoon snacks. I love the sweet and sour chicken in the buffet. I hope we encounter Sue again in our next tour here in Sabah. She's so caring and easy to travel with! She's so cooool and we love her! Til next time again!

We are lucky to have bumped into 2 types of monkies, the long-tailed macaque and the proboscis, though the proboscis is a bit far from sight as they often climb up to the tree top. We are also lucky enough to see the baby crocodile, numerous bird species and even a monitor lizard lying on a coconut tree! The trip is amazing that we do not want to leave the boat! We wish to have more time on the river! Also hope that the raincoat could be included for the tour since when we arrive, it was pouring rain and we have to buy the raincoat from the local store. For other facilities like the toilet, it was better than expected. Food is not bad though not much variety. Tour guide is ok. Overall a good day spent in the countryside of Kota Kinabalu and would recommend to people who love to be in nature and wildlife.

overall very good experience, the bus going there aircon was not working at its best. But the bus coming back was much better.

Sobrang saya namin sa party boat! Lahat ay kahanga-hanga mula simula hanggang matapos. Maayos ang pagkakaplano at pagpapatakbo ng mga aktibidad, na nagdulot ng kasiya-siya at walang stress na karanasan. Ang mga tripulante at ang aming boat guide ay napakabait, matulungin, at pinadama sa amin na kami ay malugod na tinatanggap sa buong biyahe. Gustung-gusto ng aming mga anak ang lahat ng aktibidad at nagkaroon sila ng di malilimutang oras. Ito ay isang kahanga-hangang karanasan para sa buong pamilya, at nakalikha kami ng napakaraming masasayang alaala nang magkasama. Lubos na inirerekomenda para sa sinumang naghahanap ng masaya at kasiya-siyang araw. Tiyak na gagawin namin itong muli!

Our tour guide, Xiao Chen, was very friendly and explained everything clearly. During the journey, he taught us a lot about the ecosystem of the Kawa mangroves and also helped us take many photos. He thoughtfully prepared raincoats and binoculars for us, in case we got wet and to help us see the gibbons/kingfishers more clearly. He even treated us to coconut pudding, which was very hospitable. It was truly a great experience.

Our tour was a private charter just for the two of us. We had hotel pickup and drop-off, and the facilities were new and clean. Upon arrival, we were even provided with welcome food and drinks. The river cruise boat was also very clean compared to other tour boats, which made us feel at ease. During the cruise, we were thrilled to see wild crocodiles! 🐊 Our guide was truly wonderful; understanding that we were Japanese, they spoke slowly and clearly in English. The sunset was also incredibly beautiful, and we were delighted that our guide took so many photos for us. After returning to the facility, we had dinner. It was absolutely delicious, and we ended up eating too much! Finally, we boarded the boat again for firefly viewing. It was our first time seeing so many fireflies, and we were truly moved by the experience! ✨ It was also a wonderful memory when our guide gently caught a firefly and showed it to us on their palm. From beginning to end, our guide maintained a comfortable distance with us, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time without any stress. Above all, we were touched by their kindness and warmth, which went beyond their duties as a guide. The scenery, wildlife, food, fireflies, and our amazing guide—everything created the best memories. We highly recommend this tour! ✨

It was a very enjoyable trip, big thanks to our guide, Sue Yee and driver, Max. Sue Yee gave very good explanations about the tour, and the food prepared by the locals was very good! Although Weston Wetlands is a distance away from the city, about 2-2.5 hours away, it was well worth it! Less crowd compared to other locations, we spotted a lot of monkeys (proboscis, silver-faced, long-tailed), birds and crocodiles. Firefly trip in the evening was very beautiful! Highly recommended!
