It feels like a luxury to have a private tour of the night market and city! We only had a limited time in Taipei, so getting to spend time where we wanted to go was important to us. Our tour guide was very friendly and took the time to answer our questions. Given the busy nature of the market and bringing through a small group, it’s impossible for a guide to stop with everyone to make purchases. I did appreciate explanations of certain foods and the history of the market. However, with most vendors having English menus or really good signage, you can certainly do this market on your own. Maybe watch a couple of YouTube videos in advance to get yourself familiarized with the market.
