Belinda și familia ei au fost foarte amabili. Ea a explicat procesul de pictură Batik și cât timp durează. Te face să apreciezi formele de artă tradiționale și justifică pe deplin de ce merită să plătești pentru piese de artă tradițională. Timpul și efortul lor sunt valoroase. Sper ca oricine citește acest mesaj, fie din străinătate, fie din țară, să înțeleagă de ce este important să susținem formele de artă locale și tradiționale. Unele dintre acestea pot dura o săptămână pentru a fi realizate!

A truly fascinating experience. I highly recommend that anyone visiting Yogyakarta set aside an extra half-day for this. The gamelan master's daughter speaks excellent English, and the entire lesson was very detailed. We got to try five or six different instruments, and you don't need any musical background to have a great time.
Gamelan is an ancient musical form, often using a pentatonic scale, that features an ensemble of various percussion instruments like gongs, metallophones, and drums. It frequently accompanies Javanese religious ceremonies, shadow puppet plays, or dance performances. Debussy was heavily influenced by gamelan, and you can even hear K.K. Slider play a version of it in Animal Crossing. The playing experience is very enjoyable, almost meditative, due to its relatively simple rhythms and abundant repetition.
The teacher mentioned that a Chinese band called 'Wo Qi' (which means 'I'm angry') came to learn for a day last week, which was quite amusing. We looked it up and realized it was 'Frog Pond' (Wa Chi)... We'll definitely try to catch their performance if we get the chance when we go back.

Woke up super early! Estri was very kind. The path to see the sunrise didn't have streetlights that day, which was super scary. I walked up the mountain in the dark by myself. Thankfully, other people joined me later. I couldn't see the sunrise very well that day because there were a lot of clouds, but it turned into incredibly beautiful mountain mist. A local guy helped me take pictures and then asked me for a tip. Since I was traveling alone and no one else could take pictures for me, I agreed. Borobudur is definitely a very unique place, but it seems like you have to go with a guide. Afterwards, I went on a jeep tour. Sitting in the jeep and driving on the trails made me feel like I was in a video game scene. I really felt it! Finally, I drove the jeep in the water and got wet, it was a really fun day!

Șoferul nostru, Handoyo, a fost foarte punctual. Pe drum, ne-a prezentat punctele de reper din Yogyakarta și ne-a ajutat să facem fotografii la Peștera Jomblang. Trebuie să spun că fotografiile pe care le-a făcut el au fost mult mai bune decât cele pe care ni le-au vândut la atracție mai târziu.

We booked a private driver tour from 27–30 July, and it was truly one of the highlights of our Indonesia trip.
A special thank you to our driver, Mr. Aris, for his professionalism, patience, safe driving, and kindness throughout the journey. He was always punctual, helpful, and made sure we were comfortable every day.
We would also like to thank Mr. De Jong, the tour administrator, for his excellent communication and efficient arrangements before and during our trip. Everything was well organized, making our journey completely stress-free.
Thanks to both of them, we were able to visit many places on our bucket list in Yogyakarta and create unforgettable memories.

My driver, Anto, is incredibly professional and reliable, making my customized itinerary seamless. As a solo female traveler, I felt so fortunate to have such a reassuring and trustworthy driver.
Anto is highly knowledgeable. He not only shared a lot about the local culture but was also eager to teach me some Indonesian phrases, which made my trip so much fun. He took me to try plenty of local delicacies and even prepared drinks and snacks for me. Thank you, Anto! I highly recommend him—he is a 10/10 (more like 100/10!) driver and tour guide. If I ever visit Yogyakarta again, I will definitely book him as my guide without hesitation!

We had a wonderful experience with Noor as our driver. He was friendly, reliable, and made our trip very comfortable. We especially appreciate him informing us about the last-minute closure of Prambanan Temple on the following day. Thanks to his timely update, we were able to quickly adjust our schedule and visit the temple before it closed. Otherwise, we would have completely missed this important attraction.
Noor drove us safely throughout the trip and was always punctual and accommodating. As tourists visiting the area for the first time, one suggestion for improvement would be for drivers to be a little more proactive in recommending interesting places, local attractions, restaurants, or activities nearby, rather than waiting for us to decide where to go next. Local recommendations would greatly enhance the overall travel experience.
Overall, we are very grateful for Noor's excellent service and helpfulness, and we would be happy to recommend him to other travelers.

Our driver, Romy, is super friendly and helpful. He took a good care of us during the tour, made sure we are hydrated (you know how hot it can be in Indonesia). Guides are super recommended too if you want to learn on the buildings and the history behind (we know nothing before this trip). It's a worth to stay longer in Prambanan for the sunset.

Arrangement for pick up was well communicated the day before and agency clearly addressed the additional questions we had on the medium & long route upgrade. Driver was also punctual to pick us up from hotel and handed us over to the jeep driver (also guide). The sunrise view at the bunker honestly wasn’t the best compared to other sunrise I’ve caught in Indo, but the close up view of Merapi when sun is up is truly breathtaking, and the coolness in the morning is a plus. The guide was very friendly and helpful, but with English not being his first language, explanations regarding the eruptions etc. at the various stops became repetitive - not complaining, just sharing. Got to interact with some owls at one of the stops which was a surprise bonus for an animal lover myself!! We upgraded to long route and trip started at 4am and we reached back hotel around 9am. Bring a jacket if you’re afraid of cold; the wind against your skin on the jeep ride in the morn can be chilling.
