Passeios por Byodo-in

My family and I, together with my wife and our 7 year old daughter, joined a wonderful day tour visiting Katsuoji Temple, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, and the famous Kiyomizu-dera. The entire trip was well organized and very enjoyable for all of us. Each destination offered something special. Katsuoji Temple was peaceful and unique with its many Daruma dolls, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove was breathtaking, and Kiyomizu-dera was truly impressive with its beautiful views and historic atmosphere. What made the tour even more memorable was our guide, Nick. He was entertaining, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Throughout the trip he shared interesting facts, stories, and historical insights about each location, making the journey both fun and educational. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for my family. Nick’s enthusiasm and guidance made the tour smooth, engaging, and very memorable. Highly recommended for families visiting Osaka and Kyoto.

This was a tour I used while contemplating my first trip to Japan with just my son. I had a lot of worries, but thanks to our guides Ruri and Woohui, who are fluent in both Korean and English, and our bus driver who drove safely, we were able to have a fun and enjoyable tour. The places they recommended at each tour point were also excellent. I plan to use this tour again next time. It would be great if we could meet again then! Thank you!

First of all - Lucia was amazing! So friendly and kind. Apart from showing us the best places to visit and sharing knowledge of them, she also organised helpful WhatsApp messages including locations on maps so visiting was a breeze! Uji exceeded my expectations, honestly. I thought the deer would be the best part!

Ako was a wonderful guide. I'd recommend this tour for not only fans of matcha, but those interested in learning more of the history in Uji City.

Our day trip to Nara and Uji was such a peaceful and beautiful experience 🌿⛩️ In Nara, seeing the friendly deer roaming freely around the park made the visit so unique and memorable. The atmosphere was calm, surrounded by nature and historic temples. Then in Uji, it felt like stepping into a quieter side of Japan. The streets were charming, and the matcha there was truly the best I’ve ever had—so rich and authentic. A perfect mix of nature, culture, and amazing matcha. Definitely a must-visit near Kyoto 💚

I really enjoyed this day trip. Locke was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable, friendly, and great at keeping the group organized. He shared clear explanations in both English and Chinese and always made sure everyone knew where to go next. He also helped take photos at each spot, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a great experience, and I’d happily recommend him to anyone visiting Kyoto.

Our guide can only be rated as first class, happy to discuss local historical sites and general history. The tea ceremony stop was tranquil and well-explained (courtesy of the guide). Then, a fully informed Byodo-in visit with plenty of stops for great photos, which of course he is very happy to help with.

We enjoyed our tour today with Candy as our guide. My son especially loved interacting with the deer in Nara Park. If you join this tour, I suggest you go to Todaji Temple instead of just staying in the park. In Uji, Byodo-in is a nice place to take photos. We also found a nice restaurant on Uji street (forgot the name 😅). In Fushimi Inari, we didn't finish the trail, but I think that's okay since it's the same view of Tori gates.
