a perfect cruise: excellent and fresh food, hot jacuzzi with a view of the bay (just incredible), kayaking, squid fishing (we had a lucky catch), village visit and floating aquaculture farm with our guide who spoke excellent English and was very gentle and courteous. The rooms are superb and waking up to the bay view is extraordinary! And to top it all off, the weather was beautiful and we were the only ones on this large boat with a charming Frenchwoman.

great food and great staff! I would highly recommend doing the 3D2N as the second day is an absolute blast!

We made the best decision picking Grand Pioneers II (the newer ship) after seeing other boats in Halong Bay. From pick up near the hotel , transfer to the boat, itinerary (if you wanted to do any), the food, our butler Lam, the services were all outstanding. Great experience and value for money. Very highly recommended.

We loved the experience from start to finish. All the staff are extremely attentive and caring. Special mention to Dan, who truly was like our big brother during the trip: always present, attentive, funny, and taking great care of everyone. He clearly helped make this experience even more memorable. We highly recommend doing the 3 days: the first day was busier as we were in high season, but the second day completely changed the experience. We were on a smaller, more intimate boat, visiting much less touristy places. Being able to enjoy the landscapes almost alone on the water was magical. All the meals were excellent. A small point for improvement: we would have liked to have a choice for the last dinner on the Amanda boat, as we had really loved the first menu.

I booked the tour the afternoon before, and the order was confirmed that evening, with the meeting point sent to my email. I was staying in Cat Ba Town, so it was a five-minute walk to the meeting point the next morning. First, guests were picked up from their hotels one by one, and then we went to the pier to board the cruise ship. The first stop was a village tour, which included free fish pedicures and bicycle rides, with about an hour of free time. After being picked up by an electric car, we returned to the cruise ship. The second stop was for swimming; guests could freely go into the water, or just relax on the cruise ship if they didn't want to swim. Then came lunch, which was a buffet with fresh and delicious food! After lunch, we returned to the port to drop off the half-day guests and pick up a new group for the afternoon half-day tour. We then continued out to sea, and the third activity was tandem kayaking, which lasted about 40 minutes. There were almost no waves, so it was very safe. Back on the cruise ship, we sailed a bit further to the afternoon swimming spot. Guests could freely choose whether to go into the sea; those who didn't could enjoy afternoon tea on the cruise ship, with complimentary tea and fruit. After a short break, the cruise ship slowly made its way back to the port. The guide arranged shuttle buses to drop guests back at their hotels, stop by stop. The full-day tour was very rich in activities, yet very leisurely.

The cruise was extremely good. They celebrated our anniversary and gave us a honeymoon suite. Our host, Hulk, was very good. He was polite, respectful, and made our anniversary memorable. This cruise is highly, highly recommended!

Everything was great, except for the food (as an Indian Muslim).
