Passeios por Kumamoto Castle

I joined the tour on September 12th and want to thank our guide, Sun Peng, for leading us. He is the best guide I've ever had on any KLOOK tour! He explained many things about Kumamoto to us with incredibly humorous, engaging, and clear communication. He also created a Line group, and in addition to providing pick-up times and attraction information, he thoughtfully shared must-buy and must-eat recommendations. While we were visiting sites, he would move among us, offering timely reminders and happily sharing his past experiences living in Kumamoto. There were Koreans, Japanese, and Westerners on the bus, and he diligently ensured that everything was clearly communicated to everyone. The driver's skills were also excellent; even on mountain roads, we didn't feel dizzy. Although the weather was too good and we didn't see the mysterious Kamishikimi Kumanoza Shrine, it truly felt like a perfect day. After returning, we ate at a ramen shop in Kumamoto Station that our local guide Sun highly recommended, which made me love Kumamoto and Kumamon even more. Everything was fantastic, a huge thank you! ❤️🙏

Super convenient and great value! I took the Klook tour to 草千里, 阿蘇神社, and 黑川温泉, and it was super convenient with high CP value. For someone like me who wanted to leave the tour at 黑川温泉 for an overnight stay, the cost was similar to traveling independently — but I also got to visit 草千里 and 阿蘇神社. The guides Eva and 쭈쭈 were fantastic, taking care of English, Korean, and Chinese-speaking guests. Eva even helped call my ryokan to arrange luggage delivery before we arrived, making the trip comfortable and stress-free for my mum and me, she cannot walk long distances and we were carrying a 28-inch luggage. Highly recommended! p.s. don’t miss the beef skewer from the food stall nearby the 阿蘇神社, it tastes great!

Departing on September 9, 2026, tour guide Miyamoto provided attentive and detailed explanations. As Mount Aso is currently closed due to a helicopter accident, the itinerary was changed to the Michi-no-Eki Aso Boucho Kugino, a rest stop with a stunning panoramic view of the Aso mountain range. Afterwards, we visited Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, which felt like being inside a movie scene. At noon, we arrived at Kusasenri for lunch, surrounded by vast mountain grasslands where many horses and cows roam along the road—a deeply relaxing landscape. The final stop was Kurokawa Onsen, a cozy and pleasant hot spring town that also offers delicious cream puffs. The entire tour is well worth experiencing, and the tour guide welcomes everyone to Kumamoto. Most attractions have been operating normally following the earthquake in July 2026, so everyone can visit with peace of mind. God bless Kumamoto! Stay strong, Kumamoto!

This project is a highly valuable and worthwhile itinerary. I originally read online that Kumamoto Castle might be under maintenance and closed for visitors, but fortunately, we successfully visited! The ginkgo and cherry trees are truly beautiful – the timing was just right. If you want to eat and shop, you need to pick up the pace and take fewer photos, then you'll have a chance to try the food. The tempura is super delicious and a must-try; it's sold alongside the bear-shaped cakes, and both are really tasty and cute. Aso Volcano was a pity... we couldn't visit due to the red alert, which was the only disappointment. The tour guide said it's very rare to encounter Aso Volcano on a green alert, and even the guide couldn't predict the timing. The scenery is truly beautiful, and by the way, you absolutely must bring a windbreaker! We thought it wouldn't be cold, but it was freezing. You should try the coffee, and if you want to experience buying a lucky bag in Japan, you can get one. The lucky bags contain a selection of the store's key items, so if you don't want to pick out souvenirs, you can just buy a lucky bag; there are quite a few things inside that you can give as gifts! It's excellent value for money, though it did rain a few times and disrupted things! Oh, and there's a supermarket where you should definitely buy whatever you can. Aso Musume strawberries are very popular, but they are incredibly sweet and delicious, not sour at all, with a fragrant strawberry aroma. There are also other varieties of strawberries, and the prices are all excellent!

高千穗峡谷和阿苏草千里一日游让我度过了一段美妙的时光。整个行程组织得井井有条。我们的导游Sun博学又专业，不仅为我们详细介绍了当地的历史文化，全天的行程也安排得井井有条。峡谷景色迷人，划船体验非常有趣。我还临时加订了午餐，非常庆幸自己做了这个决定，因为饭菜实在太美味了。我们在草千里还看到了马匹，感觉非常酷。总而言之，强烈推荐这个旅行团！

Our tour guide, Wang Qi, was excellent. He helped us find the best spots for photos and patiently took many pictures for each group. It's a shame it rained on the day we went, and Mount Aso was recently closed, but Takachiho and Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine were both wonderful.

A day trip starting from Kumamoto was very relaxing, and I joined a small group of 7 people in total. The scenery at Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine was gorgeous, the views at Kukino were vast and open, and Kurokawa Onsen was also impressive, with a two-hour stay being quite appropriate. The tour guide, Ge Ning, was very friendly, and the driver was also considerate in letting passengers get on and off at more convenient locations.

We were very lucky to have good weather. Our tour leader, Ms. Liu Zhihong (Cico), contacted us via email the day before because we were joining the tour at the second stop, Kumamoto Castle, and confirmed she would help us get seats closer to the front. Today, both guides used all four languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) and explained everything very diligently. In addition, even though we had purchased our own Aso Boy train tickets for the return trip from Aso to Kumamoto, Guide Liu was very thoughtful. During a break in our free time, she first took us to confirm our train schedule before leading the rest of the group back. It was truly a wonderful trip, and we will definitely join again next time.
