The sunrise in Sliancur is clear, beautiful, and tranquil, without crowds. Standing tall on the highland, we watch the sky changing in different shades, from cool colors to warm ones. Our next stop is Kedung Kayang Waterfall, where we also get to enjoy a clear view of Merapi. The photographer there is so professional that he perfectly captures both the waterfall and the volcano. (We pay IDR5000 for standing on the observatory and IDR7500 for taking pictures.) Our final stop is Borobudur. With structure tickets, we have a private guide introducing us to the history of the world’s largest Buddhist temple. And because of the limited number of visitors per hour, we fully appreciate the peace a religion can bring to our minds. To sum up, the natural and cultural wonders take our breath away. And Mr. Teguh, our considerate and humble tour guide, is simply happy because we are happy.

Makanan tidak termasuk dalam tur. Namun, saya menikmati pemandangan indah di Air Terjun Kedung Kayang. Pemandu wisata mengatur rencana dan waktu agar dapat mengikuti tur untuk memasuki bagian atas candi di Candi Borobudur. Un día maravilloso en compañía de Lingga, quien no solo es un excelente conductor, sino también una persona con la que es fácil hablar. El amanecer vale totalmente la pena madrugar. Muy pocos extranjeros van allí, pero es un lugar mágico. La cascada es muy impresionante en su exuberante paisaje. Esta actividad solo permite caminar alrededor del templo, no escalarlo. Tendrás que pagar una entrada adicional, y lo que ya pagaste por el recorrido del templo no es reembolsable. En lugar de malgastar dinero, sería una buena idea ofrecer esta opción, o decirles directamente a los visitantes que compren una entrada el día anterior y seleccionen lo que quieren y la hora. Tuve que esperar 2,5 horas para hacer el ascenso, mientras que si hubiera comprado la entrada el día anterior, el día podría haberse organizado de manera diferente. I recently had the opportunity to embark on an incredible journey through Yogyakarta's Silancur Highland, Kedung Kayang Waterfall, and Borobudur Temple, and I must say it was a truly unforgettable experience. From the stunning natural landscapes to the awe-inspiring cultural heritage, this tour had it all. Let's start with Silancur Highland. This place is an absolute paradise for anyone looking to capture picture-perfect moments for their Instagram feed. Every corner seemed to offer a new and breathtaking photo spot, perfect for creating memories that will last a lifetime. The place is well-known to locals and not to foreigners, making this place a less-travelled spot if you want to escape from the tourist packed places. However, it's worth noting that the weather can get quite chilly up there, so it's advisable to bring a jacket or windbreaker to keep yourself warm and comfortable while you explore the area. Next on the itinerary was Kedung Kayang Waterfall and it was worth every step of the 1-kilometer trek to reach its base. The journey itself was an adventure surrounded by lush greenery and river crossings. It's recommended to bring sturdy sandals or slippers to ensure a comfortable and safe crossing. Last but not least, the tour took us to the world-renowned Borobudur Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most iconic landmarks in Indonesia. The intricate carvings, the towering stupas, and the serene atmosphere all combined to create a sense of awe and wonder. Exploring the temple grounds and learning about its rich history from our knowledgeable guide was an enlightening experience. Overall, the Silancur Highland, Kedung Kayang Waterfall, and Borobudur Temple Tour provided an incredible mix of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Every moment was filled with joy and discovery. Our guide was very friendly. He offered to take photos for us and made us comfortable throughout the long day. The three spots that we were brought to were impressive. Although we did not manage to catch the sunrise at Silancur Highlands due to the fog, the view of the volcano after the fog cleared was impressive. The temperature up there was cooling as well. Kedung Kayang Waterfall is an instagrammable spot as well. The lush greenery and waterfall are very pretty backgrounds for any photos. It can be a bit challenging to get to the waterfall as the walk in the water can be slippery. We got there with the help of a local who was in the area. Not recommended for an elderly person to trek to the waterfall. My parents stayed up there to wait for us. Borobodur Temple was impressive. The temple grounds are so big that I need to find the shortest route so that my parents don't need to walk so much.

The entire trip was very smooth, the attractions were beautiful, and there was plenty of time. The driver and guide, Hotma, provided excellent service. He proactively reminded us of recommended times at each attraction, photo spots, and things to be aware of. He was very thoughtful and responsible. We felt safe and relaxed throughout the journey. Overall, this is a trip I would recommend to friends.

These kind of tours are highly recommended if you are tourist and currently in Yogakarta finding some new adventures. I also want to extend my appreciation to my driver Hotma for being so accomodating and kind throughout the trip. We shared some stories about our culture and it was really fascinating learning new things while travelling. Will surely go back to these places soon, especially Mt. Sumbing!
