It was faster and more convenient than buying tickets at the counter. There are many highlights inside the building, but if you just want a quick look, an hour was sufficient. Buses from the station are infrequent, so it's best to check the schedule in advance. I was surprised to see creatures specialized in lake environments, despite it being a museum. Although access is poor, I think the content is excellent.

Super value for money! I originally just wanted to fit in one activity, but we ended up playing until closing time and still didn't finish everything. Highly recommended place! As long as you attend an exhibition, parking is free!

It was a very beautiful and interesting facility, and one hour wasn't enough. I learned a lot about the formation and history of Lake Biwa, as well as its creatures and plants. There was also an exhibition room like an aquarium. I had an errand, so I left once and then re-entered. The closing time was 5 PM, so I was there for about two hours in total, but I would have liked to have spent more time if I had it. Lake Biwa was right in front of me, and it was very beautiful and pleasant. I was also happy that parking was free and that children up to high school age could enter for free.

It's amazing that such a fulfilling exhibition can be enjoyed for this admission fee! The grounds are vast, with so many sights to see that a single day wasn't enough. My child was captivated by the seals. The tempura made from black bass that we ate at the museum restaurant was surprisingly delicious.

It was great to use because there's no place nearby for children to play on a rainy day. Elementary school children and preschoolers were free. The facility was spacious and felt just right for elementary school-aged children.

Although it was a Sunday, it wasn't crowded, and we were able to park in a nearby parking lot. We also enjoyed a leisurely lunch with our family at the restaurant inside the facility without having to wait, even at lunchtime. It's a shame that the aquarium tunnel was closed for maintenance. There was also a roadside station nearby, where we enjoyed shopping.
