Pintura folclórica tradicional coreana de Seul com uma história

I took this class when I came to South Korea in June 2023. As soon as I walked into the room, I was amazed. It was filled with beautiful artworks made by the teacher and some of her students. The art studio felt very 'homey' with lots of plants everywhere. As soon as I sat down, she offered me tea and a biscuit, and we talked about Australia (where I'm from) and my stay in Korea while we waited for the other people who booked this class to arrive. Her English is very good, and when she talked about Korean art, you could tell she was very passionate about it! When it came to making the traditional minhwa, I was very bad at painting. I'm a person who paints with acrylics, so using watercolor was definitely difficult. The watercolor kept bleeding and would go past the lines. There were many times I had to keep asking the teacher for help because of this. But even though I kept asking for help, she was very nice and gave me a lot of tips on how to improve and helped fix my minhwa! I definitely recommend this class if you have spare time, as you can bond with other people who take the class!

This was an incredible experience!! The artist has spent her life studying art and shared so much history about how art transformed Korea. Her English was admirable and I was able to communicate with her well. She offered me drinks and some extra food she had as a snack. I was on my own, and the only one taking the class at that time so I had her full attention. She guided you through the whole process and she was quick to compliment me even when it was not perfect. I hope anyone thinking of doing this signs up, it is an unforgettable workshop with a really great souvenir!!

We enjoyed this relaxing activity very much! There were various beautiful designs to choose from, and the teacher helped us with brush technique and color mixing, so this activity is suitable for beginners too. A great experience.

This class was incredible: the teacher was so attentive and taught us the history of Korean folk painting before guiding us through our painting. The 3 hours flew by with the enriching activity! I would recommend anyone visiting Seoul to come make their Minhwa painting here.

I enjoyed the painting class very much. The instructor lady told me a lot about Korean paintings, about its meanings and helped me with my paint if I had any trouble. I can recommend it to anyone who wants a unique and personalized gift.

She took the time to ensure everyone in the room was able fo participate, and I learned so much while taking home a beautiful piece that I will treasure forever! Highly recommend! ❤️

truly special experience that both me and my friend enjoyed. interesting facts about joseon style paintings and then painted on a scroll ourselves. it was harder than I thought but the end result ended up good. we might have been a little slow so we didn’t fully finish so next time we might need to book for longer!
