Thanks to Nancy, we enjoyed our trip today! The trip covers three places, and we don't think it's too tiring to walk or explore. While the temperature is cold, especially when there's wind, it's manageable as long as you come with a jacket in January.
Our tour guide Nancy is very kind and friendly. We were lucky as the group size was not too big and there was no traffic jam that day. Everything went smoothly. Highly recommended. Just note that some deer can be quite persistent/aggressive.
The tour guide and driver were very friendly and took us to amazing spots! We were given enough time to explore each place for about 1.5 hours so I recommend picking 2 things to do at each place so you have time. The van was air-conditioned and our group was small so we could easily make friends. I definitely will take this tour again!
This is a tour with a relatively long journey, involving more than 2 hours of driving. A van will be used because the entrance to Wakayama Castle is narrow, so the group size should probably be limited to no more than six people. The return time from Nara city should be 4:30 PM, and we can reduce the time spent at the fish market to an hour and a half, which should be sufficient.
Really good tour you get plenty of time at each location to explore. Kevin was a great guide and very knowledgeable. No rushing about a very relaxing day.
The entire journey was convenient and comfortable with a tour bus transfer, and the guide was excellent, explaining the itinerary meticulously. This was my second visit, and it was much more convenient than traveling by train on my own. Although the seafood at Kuroshio Market is relatively expensive, there are many choices. There was a tuna cutting show in the middle, and overall, you can barbecue seafood, and there's a large selection of sashimi. There's also a theme park nearby that you can visit, so the overall itinerary was quite rich. Finally, I was lucky enough to see a double rainbow at Tōdaizi. I hope this is the beginning of good luck!
The itinerary was good. We had enough time at the first two attractions, but because of a 1.5-hour traffic jam on Saturday, we ended up with less than 40 minutes to see the deer in Nara. We had to rush back and forth to see the deer (buy souvenirs/take photos/feed deer), which was really hectic... If there hadn't been a traffic jam, we could have had more time, and the itinerary would have been perfect. Our tour leader Alan was very humorous. Thanks to the driver and the other tour leader for their hard work.
First, we went to Wakayama Castle; then to Kuroshio Market to watch the tuna cutting show, and had grilled seafood for lunch. It was truly amazing to enjoy such a beautiful environment. After that, we bought some cheap and fragrant peaches; finally, we went to Nara to see the deer. There were so many deer, and this time I was even ambushed by them, almost having a whole box of biscuits snatched away – it was terrifying. I must commend our tour guide, Alan, who was witty, humorous, and spoke Chinese, English, and Japanese. He explained everything very clearly, shared historical insights, and introduced us to good deals and beautiful things 👍
First, we went to Wakayama Castle. There was a bit of a uphill walk, but it turned out we could borrow walking sticks. Afterwards, we headed to Kuroshio Market to watch the tuna show (tuna filleting show) and have lunch. Then, we visited Nara to see the deer and Todai-ji Temple. The itinerary was quite rich, and we arrived at each attraction on time, allowing ample time for my elderly family members to visit and take photos. The sun was shining brightly that day, perfect for capturing beautiful pictures 🌞
