Avaliações
Highly recommend! The tour guide was so nice. Even if you don't understand Japanese, he will try his best to speak English to help you out. It was a long journey, but totally worth it. I was lucky because that day had heavy snow.
It was a great experience, although very rushed and there wasn't much time to eat. The sights were beautiful, and there was free amazake to drink.
The itinerary was well-planned, the ramen at the icebreaker waiting hall was delicious, and we were lucky enough to see drift ice.
The tour guide's English needs significant improvement; their English is poor, and their Chinese translation is a complete mess, making it impossible to understand. They are truly only capable of holding up a sign and indicating the pick-up time.
Japanese tour guides don't provide advance notice; you have to find your group at the meeting hotel. Upon arrival at the Monbetsu icebreaker, a vehicle change is required. We only got clear information after asking the Chinese driver. Luckily, we saw the drift ice; otherwise, the schedule would have been extremely rushed. The Sounkyo Ice Festival viewing was only 30 minutes. If it weren't for the fear of the tour being canceled due to a blizzard, a two-day tour would have been much better.
We skipped the Okhotsk Tower, but the icebreaker ship was a highlight and worth the money. We couldn't go to the main drift area due to bad weather, but the weather was actually good, so I don't understand the real reason for not going to the main drift area. Still, the icebreaker ship was a unique and worthwhile experience to try. Also, commuting from Sapporo is very difficult if you plan to go on your own, so this trip is convenient and worth the money to experience once in a lifetime. The Sounkyo Onsen Ice Festival was also great and enjoyable.
The meeting point was suitable, and the tour guide was polite. However, the itinerary mentioned visiting the Seal Breeding Center, the Okhotsk Sea Lighthouse, and the Seal Paradise, but the guide did not take us there and did not explain why. Could you please tell us why these parts of the itinerary were canceled?
The Japanese tour guide and driver managed their time well, departing on schedule and arriving safely. The weather was also excellent, and we successfully boarded the icebreaker to enjoy the unique winter scenery.
The trip is nice. However, I suggest extending the visit or rest time by another 15-30 minutes. Sometimes, due to crowds and not enough time to use the restroom or eat, the trip feels quite rushed. 😅
The Japanese tour guide was excellent and very attentive to every group member. The itinerary was rich and very enjoyable.
