Excursão de um dia a Taipingshan e às fontes termais de Jiuzhize saindo de Taipei ou Yilan

We went at the end of October, so it was misty and rainy, which can be somewhat troublesome. It was 12 degrees, so do wear thicker clothing! Because it was so misty, it felt like we were in a Japanese mountain from a movie. We managed to go to the hot spring (around 25-30 minutes) and cook corn and eggs! I recommend bringing a swimming cap, slippers, and swimwear for the hot spring! It would also be good to bring your own bread to go along with the corn and egg, although they do sell Ba Zhang (and some basic burger buns over there). Our driver, Qisong, is very friendly and helpful, with excellent driving skills! Oh, I really liked the Bong Bong train too! Please note that for the Bong Bong, you'll have to go up a staircase. I saw some older visitors struggling but managing to climb it. It might not be suitable for people with difficulty climbing.

The driver is punctual. Always be there before the pick up time. We went for the Taipingshanzhuang route. Worth the trip, beautiful mountainous place. cloudy misty. Those who got car sickness need to bring medication as the way up the mountain is so winding and giddy. Overall is a very good experience.

我非常喜歡太平山國家森林公園！風景美得令人窒息，每個角落都像明信片一樣。這裡非常寧靜美麗，是完美的自然休憩之地。其中一個亮點絕對是蹦蹦車之旅，那是一次非常有趣和迷人的體驗！我離開時感到心曠神怡，對大自然的美景感到驚嘆。我百分之百會再回來！強烈推薦給所有熱愛大自然、寧靜和一點冒險的人。特別感謝我們的司機周先生，他非常友善、細心，而且人很好，他熱情的個性和有用的見解讓整個旅程更加愉快。

Taipingshan is a hidden gem in Taiwan. Every part of it is wonderful, so be sure to visit it before traveling. As of January 2026, there is no restaurant in Jiuzhize as it is under construction, but you can boil eggs and eat steamed buns. It was a nice experience.

整個行程的時間安排合理，參觀時間共4個小時 加上去程3個小時和回程3個小時，剛好10個小時 我覺得是足夠的。我預訂去程的時間為6點半但實際上司機大概6點15就到了，車裡乾淨，我們的司機姓吳還很熱情介紹太平山有哪裡好拍照，到了太平山要去哪裡觀光，時間安排也溝通很清楚。推推給大家有機會一定要去太平山一日遊~

Went in with fairly low expectations, honestly thought it might turn out to be a bit of a bore — but it turned out to be a wonderful trip! Our driver deserves special mention: he was patient, cautious, and genuinely took care of us throughout. There's no separate guide, but the driver briefs you on what to do at each stop, which worked out just fine( he speaks Chinese get translated by other tourists).The only real suggestion I'd make to the tour operator: please allow 1.30 hours for the hot stone bath, not 50–60 minutes. It's simply not enough time,so I skipped it. Weather can be unpredictable, but we were lucky — had excellent weather on 16.09.2026, our day out. Overall, a trip we'll remember fondly.

Napakapayapang biyahe! Pito lang kami sa tour na ito at ako lang ang Pilipino sa grupo. Sa kabila nito, ipinagdiwang ko ang aking kaarawan sa nakamamanghang probinsyang ito. Talagang payapa at malayo sa ingay at gulo ng siyudad.

Most of the time was spent traveling, with the actual hiking experience lasting just over 4 hours. It is recommended to depart at 06:00 and return promptly at 15:30 to complete the entire itinerary. As the location is remote, the driver and passengers will coordinate a reasonable stopover time. Here is the actual itinerary and times for the day: 06:00 gather, 06:11 depart, 07:02 arrive at Yilan Train Station, 07:38 arrive at the 7-Eleven at the foot of the mountain for a 10-minute break, 09:41 arrive at the Beech Trail, 13:00 gather, 14:06 arrive at Jiuzize Hot Spring, 15:05 return. Lunch is self-arranged; find time to eat. Parking is not allowed at Jianqing Historic Trail, but temporary stops can be made in front of the trail for hikers' convenience. For those who haven't been to Jianqing, if the above situations arise, please communicate with the driver as needed. Jianqing is a truly worthwhile trail to explore. The drive up the mountain takes some time, with many winding roads, so passengers prone to motion sickness must take motion sickness medication. Even if you don't usually get motion sickness, it's advisable to bring a bag for the 2.5-hour mountain drive.

It takes about an hour and a bit to get to Taipingshan from Yilan. We rode the Bong Bong Train, visited the Jiancing Historic Trail, and went to Jiuzize Hot Springs. The weather was great today, and we even saw a sea of clouds. The driver was very punctual, and the overall experience was excellent.
