Our driver and guide Eka came punctually to pick us from our hotel. The ride to Eastern Bali was quite long (more than 1 hour). Eventually we reached our host’s house where we were warmly welcomed with coffee and some cakes. We were shown how to grate coconut with traditional tools and the kids had a fun time squeezing the coconut milk by hand. While waiting for the milk to cook for oil extraction, Eka brought us around the family’s ancestral temple for a visit and explained in detail to us the cultural significance and practices of ancestor worshipping, etc. It was an eye-opening session and we learned a lot. We were then treated to delicious home-cooked lunch by the host. The visit to the salt farm was also very interesting. Pak Nyoman welcomed us and showed us how he harvests seawater to make salt. He enthusiastically took pictures with our kids. The only thing that I think needs slight improvement is probably the host covering the cakes with a net or something because there were quite a few flies.
We were guided by Mr. Nomanstaban. First, we went to a local market, where he took us to shops frequently used by locals, and there were many fresh ingredients. Afterwards, we enjoyed tapioca chimaki-like snacks and coffee at Mr. Noman's house. We also had a very enjoyable time making coconut oil, and cooking curry and side dishes together for lunch. It was my first time going through the process of peeling, grating, and filtering a coconut from scratch, which was very interesting. Then, we went to see salt production by the sea. Seeing the laborious process of making salt, I was reminded that salt rich in minerals is truly precious. Everyone kindly taught us, and it was a very fulfilling day. Thank you very much.
This was truly an interesting experience; the support from Putu and his family was absolutely wonderful. We had a full day immersing ourselves in the daily life of the Balinese people. I am honored to recommend this service to anyone who wants a different travel experience from what they are used to.
Sri is een zeer vriendelijke medewerker die ons rondleidde en met ons praatte. De familie met wie we kokosolie en lunch maakten, was ook erg gastvrij. De vriendelijkheid op Bali liegt nooit.
We traveled for about 2 hours from Sanur to the east to experience this. The experience felt even more novel because it was in a place that resembled a private home. Making oil and food was easy, so it would be great to do with children. However, I was disappointed that we could only look around in a limited area at the salt farm village. Of course, visiting such a place and seeing it with your own eyes is a very valuable experience, but after arriving there, which took almost an hour from where we did the oil experience, we only looked around for 5 to 10 minutes before returning. Even if we wanted to stay longer, there was nothing else to do… It felt a bit empty to have gone all that way for nothing to do. Anyway, it was an interesting experience! The coconut oil we made ourselves smelled really good. Since we can take the coconut oil we made with us, it might be a good idea to try it out.😇
The coconut oil making process was very good & I enjoyed every bit of it. The natural salt making process was just okay as it was too hot & also they showed thesalt prepared but not the process.
a personalised tour where every participant was able to be very hands on. We had a great day.
導遊非常友善,如果你想了解當地文化,值得推薦,他們會有很多當地的小故事分享,可以體驗不一樣的印尼旅遊。
The driver Budo's service is very good and enthusiastic, but in the cooking process a pair of white people behind us have a coffee and tea break. The dishes they cook contains meat, but we don't.I want to know what the reason is.
这种传统的手工体验非常值得推荐。还额外去了咖啡庄园,司机和导游都非常友善周到,制作椰子油时当地餐也很正
