Admissão ao Museu de Arte Yokai em Shodoshima

Stepping out of Tsuchiura Port and into Shodoshima's intricate "Maze Town," a labyrinth of alleys dating back to the pirate era, the Yokai Art Museum quietly awaited me on a quaint street corner. Inside the wooden warehouse, it guided me from the origins of yokai to the present day, from the spiritual views of the late Heian period to the entertainment yokai of the Edo era, all while listening to the poetic narrative that "yokai are fear, comfort, and culture." The museum, formed by several old houses, is not just a stage for yokai exhibitions but also a resonance of culture and imagination. Wandering through it, I realized that the yokai here are not meant to scare, but rather to serve as a mirror and a source of warmth from the depths of the human heart.

Pros: 1. All the exhibits are beautiful (I especially love the Kappa, so handsome >V<), took many photos, and the lighting made them quite unique. 2. It felt like an adventure, holding a map, wearing headphones, and listening to the (Mandarin) commentary while exploring. Quite suitable for a solo adventure. 3. The three areas aren't very large, but moving up and down through them was quite special. Cons: 1. Although Wi-Fi was provided, the commentary on the app was very unreliable (even when I used my own data). 2. The yokai merchandise sold in the shop wasn't very appealing; I only bought two small yokai figures (Kappa, Tengu), and the ones I wanted were out of stock TAT. PS: If you're not particularly interested in yokai, I wouldn't recommend going. ^^

It's very convenient, you can buy and use it immediately, and it's cheaper than buying on-site. The Yokai Art Museum has 4 exhibition halls. The museum displays many sculptures of ghosts and monsters. The Kawa-no-ki Art Museum is a small, detailed exhibition hall, displaying many paper crane artworks. If you have time when visiting Shodoshima, you can come and see it.

An interesting experience. We picked up the key and headphones in the lobby, and then used the mobile app to explore at our own pace. The exhibition halls are spread across several small houses within the town, and the clear signs in between ensured we didn't get lost.

The Shodoshima Yokai Art Museum is divided into several pavilions. Follow the signs to reach them. You need to enter a password to enter the museum, and there's no time limit. You'll see many fascinating and interesting items.

First special experience, with an immersive feeling. It's fully self-service, not many people, no need to queue. There's Chinese translation and Mandarin audio, making it very easy to understand the meaning behind the museum exhibits.

Very good! The various halls are spread out, and at first, it was hard to find my way, but I slowly got used to it. Yokai are also an art of imagination 🎭, highly recommended.

It is cheaper to buy on Klook than buying at the site. Recommend buying before going to save money. And the museum inside is with air con so it is cold. Suggest bringing children to go
