Washuzan Highland offers a delightful blend of scenic beauty and family-friendly attractions. Located on Washuzan Mountain, the park provides stunning views of the Seto Inland Sea and the iconic Seto Ohashi Bridge. The highlight is the spacious observation deck, which is perfect for capturing panoramic photographs of the surrounding landscape. The park features a range of activities, including amusement rides, a small zoo, and seasonal events that cater to both children and adults. The well-maintained gardens and walking paths make it a pleasant place for a leisurely stroll. Overall, Washuzan Highland is a great destination for those looking to enjoy nature, enjoy breathtaking views, and have fun in a relaxed setting.
The amusement park's location is a bit remote, but fortunately, there's a direct tourist bus line to the entrance. If you manage your time well, you can enjoy the sunset afterward, making it a full-day itinerary. The operation of the park's large thrill rides will be adjusted according to the weather conditions on the day (likely including crowd levels). The ticket seller at the main gate also clearly informed us of this before activating our passes. If you have specific rides in mind, it's recommended to inquire in advance to avoid disappointment. Additionally, those who wish to try bungee jumping should note that unless you can communicate in Japanese, staff may very likely refuse your participation due to safety considerations. Overall, the staff are friendly, and although the facilities are a bit old, there are many of them, and it's not too crowded, making it a comfortable amusement park.
It's an amusement park with a peculiar vibe. There are so many stairs that it's quite tiring. For those who find the stairs difficult, they've created alternative routes like slopes and wooden structures on the side. While it doesn't really have a distinct theme or beautiful decorations, there are many children playing joyfully, which makes you feel excited too. Not all the rides are well-made, but they're decent enough to ride, haha. I was worried there wouldn't be many people, but there were quite a few more than I expected. The queue to enter is long. Kiosks wouldn't really fit in here, would they? There are only a few counters where people sell tickets one by one. Going up and down the stairs and playing games with the kids at the main stage, making them sit and stand up, is so much fun, haha. The sky was a bit cloudy and visibility was low when I went, but I imagine the view would be really nice on a clear day!
This is a great stop to include in a self-driving tour. Most of the rides are thrilling and suitable for adults. On a clear day, the distant view of the bridge is absolutely beautiful.
Half of the rides in the park were out of service, and the facilities were very old, with very few tourists. However, as a relaxing tourist attraction, I still found it very enjoyable, appreciating the beautiful scenery at a leisurely pace.
This time, I went directly to the site and used Klook to buy and use the tickets immediately. It was cheaper and more convenient than buying tickets on-site, and there were no language barrier issues with the counter staff. I recommend everyone to purchase through Klook.
Definitely must try the sky cycling, we went twice with different facing, really thrill but fun! Many other roller coasters for you to ride (I dare not, haha)
Suitable for those who are brave and over 130cm tall. There's bungee jumping (additional charge required) and a standing, extra-long roller coaster. The sky cycling is a must-try, as is the Ferris wheel. There's a bingo game at 1 PM, and a water slide open in summer. To get there, alight at JR Kojima Station and transfer to the S1 bus route at bus stop 4. The staff are friendly, except for the male staff member at the coffee cup ride (due to language barrier). Nearby, you can visit Jeans Street and enjoy the sunset at Mt. Washuzan.
