Tour de Meio Dia pela Cidade de Luang Prabang

Our tour guide, Jet, was such a lovely companion! He was knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating. The tour itself is quite quiet and low-key, but Luang Prabang isn't a huge place, haha. Highly recommend!

It was too hot at midday, under the strong sunshine, and we had to listen to the explanation. The guide was used to the hot weather, but we weren't. Before starting the explanation, it would have been better to find some shade or explain indoors. Visiting four temples at midday was too difficult for us. I think the guide should have taken us to the museum at midday instead; that would have been a better idea.

Luang Prabang has many interesting ancient sites. This activity will take you to see these important places. The guide explained the various stories in detail.

It turns out my wife and I were the only participants in the tour. Our guide (Mr. Xoy) arrived at the hotel. Apparently, he came from a poor family in a remote province, was sent by his father to be a monk in that province, and fortunately, he was later transferred to one of the best temples in Luang Prabang. After finishing the equivalent of high school, he stopped being a monk to study at the university (while working part-time to support himself). Thus, after university graduation, he became a guide but returns to farming during the lean tourist season. I appreciated the insights I gained from him regarding religion and the lifestyle and social values of the typical Laotian man-in-the-street. I learned more about ordinary Laotian people in a half-day of interacting with him than I did from my entire week of visiting the usual tourist places.

Good experience, although reaching the organizer before the tour was difficult.

Tuvimos un guía bastante bueno para este viaje. Lamento haber olvidado su nombre, pero su foto está en las fotos. El viaje fue educativo y los templos eran deslumbrantes y hermosos. Ohn from Nova Tours is one of the best tour guides. It was a very interesting tour. I recommend doing it.
