The view was beautiful. I wished there was more time at Sun Link Sea to slowly enjoy the view. Our guide, Fan, asked if we would get motion sickness and took good care of us. He even brought us somewhere to buy local snacks and introduced us to a few good places to eat on the way back.

The experience was superb. Although I had to remind the driver that part of what we paid for was the Monster Village tour. He initially did not include this on the itinerary. Despite this, he was very kind and took nice photos for our group. This tour is highly recommended and is not advisable to DIY especially when accompanied by seniors. Although the train that day was under maintenance so we couldn’t go to the waterfalls due to long walk needed and limited time.

The guide was on time and very friendly. We were also incredibly lucky as it was a Monday and we had the entire 9-seater to ourselves. Sun Link Sea is amazing and very scenic, especially during spring when there are Sakura blossoms and in autumn.

Since I've already been to Alishan, Sun Moon Lake, and Cingjing, and the Wuling tour couldn't be arranged, by a stroke of luck, I ended up booking this tour. It had been raining every day during the recent Qingming Festival, and I was initially worried about going up the mountain in the rain. Although there was a light drizzle, the weather was generally good! There isn't much to see in April, but the temperature was around 18 degrees Celsius, which was very comfortable! If you enjoy hiking and are looking for a less crowded spot, then this tour is perfect for you! Many thanks to our guide, Mr. Chen, who was very kind!

Our Sun Link Sea Forest & Monster Village Day Tour from Taichung was unforgettable — all thanks to our wonderful tour guide, Angel! From the moment the tour began, Angel made everything feel so personal and welcoming. Her warm energy, fun personality, and genuine care for each of us made the entire experience extra special. She had the perfect balance of being informative and entertaining — sharing fun facts, local stories, and even some great photo tips. You could tell she truly loves what she does, and that passion made all the difference. She made sure everyone was comfortable, engaged, and having a great time throughout the day. Exploring the peaceful Sun Link Sea Forest and the quirky, charming Monster Village felt even more magical with Angel leading the way. It didn’t feel like a tour — it felt like a fun day out with a good friend. We can’t recommend her enough. Thank you, Angel, for the memories and all the laughter!

Beaucoup de marche et un très long trajet en voiture. Heureux que notre guide ait quand même maintenu le voyage même si nous n'étions que 3. Notre guide est un couple chinois qui ne parle pas beaucoup anglais, mais nous avons quand même pu communiquer grâce à Google Traduction. Notre guide a mentionné que nous étions arrivés trop tôt et trop tard pour quelque chose de majestueux, alors il nous a juste montré une photo de ce à quoi cela ressemblait avec de l'eau. À l'heure du déjeuner, il y avait tellement de nourriture que nous n'avons pas pu tout finir. C'est excellent pour une visite de groupe. Heureux d'avoir aussi fait ami avec Noah qui prend de superbes photos !

Despite feeling like my heart was going to implode from all the hiking,( don’t be fooled by the shuttle bus up) the views were totally worth it. Picturesque, beautiful and mesmerising are a few words to describe Sun Link Sea. The monster village was the icing on the cake and really was a fun although different experience, with lots of souvenirs and gifts to buy. A very good experience all together.

This tour is highly recommended for the great scenery in both Lotus Forest ( 忘忧森林) and Sun Link Sea ( 杉林溪). Even though it was dry season in early Jan, there were still pools of water at Lotus Forest which is key to the mysterious and desolate beauty of the place. We opted for an English speaking guide but it turned out that there was no difference as the tour agent had assigned a multilngual tour guide who spoke Chinese, English and Japanese to cater to the 20 pax tour group of different nationalities . As the guide had to speak in 3 languages, the information provided was rather basic at best. Lunch was tasty with at least 7-8 Chinese style dishes. Notwithstanding that we spent more than 3h travelling to fro to the sights from Taichung, we managed to clock around 20000 steps per pax that day to give an indication of the amount of walking required. The nice weather that day made our tour even more enjoyable. Only disappointment was the Monster Village as the place looked deserted with many shops closed. Too touristy and cliched in our opinion.

We really enjoyed ourselves very much! The scenery is amazing. Our guide, Mr. Lim, also known as Apple, is very friendly.
