Experiência no Santuário de Elefantes de Phuket

Awesome to see elephants up close and free to roam where they wish under the overall guidance of their mahout. There is no touching of the elephants here which I was worried how close we could actually get to them. I did not need to worry, i got everything out of the tour I wanted all while respecting the elephants.

An absolutely magical experience - a day of learning about the incredibly intelligent and sensitive elephants, and how these wonderful workers have created a sanctuary for these elderly and disabled elephants that can finally retire in this paradise. You get to come close and personal with the elephants, while respecting them and allowing them to live in their natural habitat. Highly recommend coming here as Phuket Elephant Sanctuary are the pioneers of ethical sanctuary’s in Phuket.

I visited with my grandparents (older travelers) and this was a really accessible experience where the guides were really friendly and the elephants were free to roam! The carers of the elephants followed the elephant and not the other way around, it was amazing to see them play. The highlight for me was the elephant hospital, and getting to meet the veterinarian who was caring for a sick elephant of old age. Its amazing what they are doing for the elephant species as a whole in phuket, the site is really peaceful too and the food was excellent!

This was such a great experience. I learned a lot about elephants and the reasons they've "retired" in this forever home. We could feed them (from a distance) and also get a closer look at them in the forest. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, making the tour more fun! The lunch was alright, nothing too amazing. I chose the hotel pick-up, and they were on time too.

I had an amazing experience visiting the elephant sanctuary. It is a very well-managed place that truly cares for the elephants and ensures their well-being. Unlike some other places, they do not exploit or harm the animals in any way. The sanctuary focuses on providing a safe and natural environment for the elephants, allowing them to live peacefully. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, sharing valuable insights about the elephants and their conservation efforts. It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend visiting for anyone who wants to see these incredible animals being treated with kindness and respect.

The most amazing experience at this beautiful Sanctuary for rescued elephants! Our tour guide Tour was so lovely, knowledgeable and funny. We really loved our time here and so thrilled that such a place exists to help our elephant friends. We will definitely be back, and will be telling our friends and family to visit here for sure.

Un lugar absolutamente impresionante para los elefantes que son demasiado viejos o están demasiado enfermos para cuidarse a sí mismos. Una pieza educativa masiva sobre muchos conceptos erróneos de lo que es bueno para los elefantes. Aprendí que no es humano lavar o montar elefantes. De hecho, si quieren tu atención, vendrán a ti. Una gran experiencia: ¡estuvimos muy cerca de los elefantes en este santuario! El recorrido fue en inglés y nuestra guía compartió con nosotros su viaje personal que la trajo a este santuario. Conocía a cada elefante por su nombre y nos contó su (triste) historia. También lo pasamos muy bien alimentando a los elefantes. Me alegra que estos elefantes pasen sus últimos días siendo cuidados en este maravilloso entorno.

AMAZING! Best day ever! Didn’t want to leave! this was a beautiful experience and we are so glad we did it! Our ticket included transfer to and from the sanctuary in very comfortable transport. Refreshments and snacks at the start and lunch at the end were provided and very nice! Our guide Thomas was amazing and very knowledgeable about the elephants. The elephants were simply amazing and it was so special to be so close to them. This was the only park I found where you could not physically touch the elephants, exactly what I wanted and when you listen to the stories about the elephants, I’m very glad I chose this experience. You do not have to feed or pet the elephants to have an amazingly beautiful experience with the elephants. Highly recommended experience and I will be going back next time I am in Phuket!

For me, it was the most beautiful excursion in a long time! Personally, it was very important for me to visit a place that I considered ethically justifiable. After the short introductory film, I was sure that choosing this place was the right decision. The elephants here move freely and do whatever they feel like. Each of the elephants there has a personal story, and my guide Ice Cream explained everything wonderfully and understandably. She also took a lot of time so that all participants could take enough photos/selfies. There was also a very delicious buffet (vegetarian, like the elephants), and you could watch the elephants while eating. The time was completely sufficient overall, and even though it is more expensive (to ensure, among other things, food and medical care in the adjacent elephant hospital), I went home with a clear conscience and wonderful memories.
