If you go to Beppu, Oita, you must visit this place! It's a great place to show children how fun and happy the ocean can be. It's wonderful because you can see all kinds of marine animals up close, such as walruses, dolphins, and stingrays. You can also play in the water at the artificial beach where the dolphins are. Make sure to pack extra clothes for the kids. However, the lines at the restaurants are incredibly long. If you're going on a weekend or holiday, I recommend bringing a packed lunch!

We had to make a last-minute reservation because it started raining heavily after we checked out of our accommodation that morning and were about to start our planned itinerary. I was worried the tickets might not be recognized since I booked them in a hurry, but my concerns were unfounded. Thanks to the inexpensive tickets, my child thoroughly enjoyed the dolphin show, the sea lion educational presentation, and had a fantastic time playing in the indoor children's playground.^^

The 7 of us bought tickets through Klook, which made entry very convenient. It's a very enjoyable place to walk around, with many interesting animals and fun shows. The zone the kids loved most was where they could touch some aquatic animals, such as stingrays (very tame), starfish, and a giant walrus!!!! And seeing the penguins up close!!!! The weather was very cool when we visited, which made the atmosphere absolutely perfect.

A concise and exquisite aquarium. Although not large, it is meticulously arranged and more worthwhile to experience than some bigger aquariums. Catch the show times, and three hours here is enough to enjoy. It's worth noting that if you want to sit directly facing the stage for the dolphin show, you must bring a raincoat and a towel, especially if you sit on the right side facing the stage, as you will get very wet. Staff also sell raincoats before the show starts, so those who want to sit and watch should definitely cover themselves well.

The parking lot is located behind the zoo and the aquarium. However, like most aquariums, it mainly offers a close-up view of marine life. There are also opportunities to touch starfish and fish, and limited-time close-up experiences are available. But typically, aquariums of similar size don't feature sea lion, pelican, and dolphin shows, all of which are regularly scheduled here. The only downside I found was the overwhelming crowds during the summer vacation. You have to secure your spot early to watch the shows. We also encountered a sudden thunderstorm, which prevented us from visiting some outdoor attractions.
