This is a semi-independent tour with flexible arrangements. On the bus to Lucerne, the guide will introduce attractions along the way in Switzerland. You'll arrive in Lucerne around noon and begin your self-guided tour, spending approximately six hours there. The round-trip boat journey to Bürgenstock takes about an hour. The bus pick-up and drop-off points are near the train station and Chapel Bridge, and it's about a 10-minute walk to Pier 3 for the boat. You can exchange your boat and cable car tickets with the crew when boarding, saving time queuing to buy tickets. The 30-minute boat ride offers ample opportunity to enjoy the scenic mountains and waters of the Lucerne Lake region. The boat and cable car timings are coordinated, so you can take the cable car to the summit of Bürgenstock as soon as the boat docks, overlooking the entire lake area. It's very beautiful on a clear day. The round trip walk to Hammetschwand Lift takes about an hour and a half; if you plan to go, be mindful of the last cable car down (cable cars run once an hour). There is less shade on the mountain, so if you go at midday, be aware of sun exposure. The hotel restaurants on the mountain are not cheap, but they offer the best views of the lake area, making it suitable for travelers with elderly companions. The Lion Monument is currently undergoing partial renovation.

This is a good day tour to Lucerne and Bürgenstock from Zurich. It is not entirely a guided tour, but you will have enough time to explore the area on your own. The boat ride to Bürgenstock is lovely, and the view of the mountain is amazing. This tour is overall a good one if you have limited time to see Lucerne in a day.

The scenery is beautiful. There were actually two variants of the itinerary combined, so we had to clarify with the tour guide. Generally good because it's cheaper than going on your own.

Honestly, if you mean to just visit the town of Lucerne, just take the train from Zurich. It’s cheaper and you aren’t constrained by the time set by the tour. We got on the bus and we were dropped off in Lucerne to be on our own from 11 am to 5 pm. The only pro about this tour is that you can opt for the boat and funicular inclusive option, which I think saves time and money compared to buying the tickets in person. Otherwise, just go take the train.

Leider konnten wir aufgrund des nebligen Wetters nicht viel vom Bürgenstock Resort sehen. Dies betrifft auch den Hammetschwand-Lift, für den man extra bezahlen muss.

It was terrible; they made the tour group wait for the bus in the cold for half an hour, but sent a message claiming there was traffic, when in fact they had gone to pick up another group. As a result, our group, who had been waiting, barely had any seats when we got on the bus.
