We had an amazing and unforgettable journey. My husband loved snorkeling around the pontoon, and I absolutely enjoyed the Scuba Doo diving experience. It was incredible to descend five meters and see the stunning coral and colorful fish up close. The staff were fantastic, the food was delicious, and everything was so well organised.

😄Smooth itinerary: Arrived at the pier an hour early to check in and exchange tickets. The boat departed at 10:30 AM, reaching Green Island in about 45 minutes. Without disembarking, we then proceeded to the Great Barrier Reef, which added another hour, making the travel quite time-consuming. The equipment was okay, but there were no snorkeling suits for smaller individuals, and I couldn't find suitable flippers, so I went into the water barefoot. The environment was very beautiful, with many large fish and coral reefs, though unfortunately some parts were already bleached. Lunch was very good; I wish there were more dishes and variety. It would have been better with more time for snorkeling. The windows of the semi-submersible boat were too blurry and dirty, making it hard to see clearly. Otherwise, it was very good.

I read online that Great Adventures cruise has two pontoons, one at Moore Reef and one at Norman Reef, with the latter being the farthest from the shore. This trip took us to Moore Reef. It would have been better if this had been communicated earlier because I never knew Great Adventures went to Moore. Tip: compare Quicksilver vs. Great Adventures, and Reef Magic vs. Sunlover. These two should have more economical options for obvious reasons: they don't go too far from the shore. Quicksilver goes the farthest. Great Adventures is the only company with a Scooba-Doo. Additional cost. Tip: you can bargain a bit.

A trip to Cairns isn't complete without visiting the Great Barrier Reef. Although the coral reefs have suffered significant damage, they are still incredibly beautiful. Napoleon wrasse and sea turtles swim right beside you, and the variety of fish and corals is truly impressive!

The Great Barrier Reef is truly worth visiting! The staff and instructors at Great Adventures are very kind and friendly. There are staff on board who speak Mandarin and Japanese. We boarded at 10:30 AM and arrived at the Great Barrier Reef outer island at 12:30 PM. However, the 3-hour platform activity felt a bit rushed because we had to eat the buffet lunch, take the semi-submarine, and snorkel. If you add other activities like a helicopter ride, there won't be enough time. I suggest the cruise company could depart earlier to allow sufficient time for activities on the platform! Overall, this activity is highly recommended :)

Upon arriving at the Outer Reef, we immediately queued for the semi-submersible, where we could clearly see many corals. Unfortunately, we sat on the wrong side, and the corals were always on the other side. The underwater scooter costs AUD 189 for 20 minutes and is a rare experience; don't be late! Before the boat departed, there was a wonderful fish feeding show where we saw a cute Napoleon Wrasse. Its large body squeezed onto the platform to eat, but another fast-moving large fish snatched the food just as it was about to reach its mouth. It was very exciting, but unfortunately, I didn't record it. On the return journey, I sat upstairs sunbathing and missed the cheese crackers distributed in the cabin below. Before the boat reached the Outer Reef, we couldn't know the semi-submersible schedule in advance. After learning the arranged time for the self-funded underwater scooter, the connection was very rushed, and the whole itinerary felt very tight. The lunch on the Big Cat was better.

A fruitful trip. Helpful staff were always ready to assist, breathtaking views, kid-friendly, and the food was good too. However, the route was a bit rough, remember to take seasickness tablets before embarking.
