Chengdu & Parque Nacional Jiuzhaigou Excursão de um dia

I visited Jiuzhaigou in March, during the off-peak season, yet there were still many tourists. There was unmelted snow and frost on the ground, and the trees hadn't grown leaves yet, but this didn't detract from the beautiful scenery. It took about 95 minutes to travel by high-speed train from Chengdu East Station to Huanglong Jiuzhai Station, and then another 100 minutes by tourist bus from Huanglong Jiuzhai Station to the scenic area. I spent 6 hours sightseeing in the park. The highest point in the scenic area is 3101 meters above sea level, and the temperature was about 5-6 degrees Celsius (it was occasionally sunny that day). There are sightseeing buses between attractions to save time, and also boardwalks for those who enjoy hiking. I experienced mild altitude sickness (headache and muscle fatigue) during my visit. The bus driver was very thoughtful and allocated extra time for the return journey, as there was a chance of traffic jams due to slow driving in the event of snow in the evening. So, I had originally bought a high-speed train ticket for 20:40 (Songpan Station to Chengdu East Station, about 95 minutes journey), but because the traffic was smooth, when the bus arrived near Huanglong Jiuzhai Station at about 18:20, the driver reminded us that we could change our high-speed train ticket on the spot to an earlier departure (19:00 Huanglong Jiuzhai Station to Chengdu East Station, about 150 minutes journey). We successfully changed it and returned to our hotel in Chengdu city an hour earlier than expected to rest. Therefore, if you are just visiting and are unsure if your body can adapt to altitude sickness, this half-day tour plan, spending a full day in the Jiuzhaigou scenic area, is indeed a good choice.

There was no tour guide, just a pick-up from Huanglong Station to Jiuzhaigou and back. But everything was perfectly arranged. The driver was also very kind and punctual, driving smoothly even though it seemed to be snowing quite heavily on the way back at night, which made visibility a bit difficult. The travel agency was also very helpful with all the information. Best.

A very well-organized trip

It was easy to find the car after exiting the high-speed rail station. The driver explained the entire itinerary but did not accompany us into the park, as there was already a guide inside. After the tour, the driver picked us up and took us back to the high-speed rail station. The scenery in Jiuzhaigou is truly beautiful, and the lake water is very clear.
