Osaka Kuromon Market Dotonbori Half-Day Small Group Food Tour

I had two teenage boys and they enjoyed it a lot. We really liked having a Japanese guide. It was like going out with Auntie. The tour was flexible so we took extra time in one area which limited time in others. There was an option to extend time which was nice if you want to stop along the way. My only reason for doing 4/5 for value is it is labeled as a food tour but no food was included in the cost. It’s really a guided market tour. Well worth the cost for a guide because the markets are like a maze and Google/Apple maps aren’t great navigating markets or recommending best places to try speciality foods. I’d recommend for families or anyone who can get overwhelmed by the hundreds of options. Total necessity in the heat of summer to have a guide.

I've done food tours before that are very structured with small bites at each stop, but this felt completely different in a good way. It was relaxed and personalized, more like being shown around by a local. Yoshi was an excellent guide. We walked through Kuromon Market and Doguyasuji kitchen street, and he really helped cut through what can feel quite touristy. Kuromon can be quite marked up, so it was helpful having someone local to guide us on what's actually worth it. One highlight was a local restaurant he introduced us to, which was delicious and affordable. I also appreciated that he stepped away so my mom and I could enjoy the meal at our own pace. He went above and beyond by carrying one of our shopping bags and helping me find genuine made in Japan products. He also gave great recommendations for other places in Osaka to try. Overall, a thoughtful and genuinely helpful experience. Highly recommend.

The tour guide was a kind and friendly gentleman who could communicate in Chinese. He even took the initiative to help us take commemorative photos and told us many local stories and their origins. Our child also loved him. This was a wonderful experience, and we were very happy to have met this tour guide.

Yokko was fantastic! She helped us experience Osaka at its best. We were able to sample many different foods and drinks as well as shop!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about Japanese history, temples, and shrines. Kuromon Market was fascinating, with many delicious-looking foods like crab and takoyaki. It was a very enjoyable tour.
