Upon arrival, head straight from the airport with your luggage to start your journey without wasting the first day's itinerary. Especially in winter Hokkaido, where transportation can be unpredictable, we recommend signing up for a tour.
We arrived at 12 PM, had a meal at New Chitose Airport's domestic terminal, and arrived at 1:30 PM. I thought it would be a group tour, but since it was the off-season, only our team of two had signed up. They could have canceled since a team wasn't formed, but they took full responsibility and were incredibly kind and accommodating. Especially, two staff members saw us off for just the two of us, and the driver was also so friendly. They even provided umbrellas because it might rain upon arrival, haha. The schedule allowed ample time to explore Otaru city, and they also adjusted to our timing for Sapporo city. I think choosing the airport departure schedule was a much better decision than arranging a new schedule in Sapporo. I highly recommend it. Thank you so much.
