Revisar para: Tour do Patrimônio Cultural da Cidade Cênica de Wuzhen Leste e Oeste

We had a wonderful day visiting Wuzhen thanks to our local guide, Ms Sun. From the moment we arrived, she shared fascinating stories about the town’s rich history, culture, and traditions, making every corner come alive. Her warm personality, patience, and attention to detail ensured that our trip was smooth, enjoyable, and memorable. She was always happy to answer questions and recommended excellent spots for photos and local delicacies. Wuzhen is beautiful on its own, but her knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience truly special. Thank you for your professionalism and hospitality—we highly recommend her to anyone visiting Wuzhen.

We booked the Chinese-guided tour, so most of the explanations were in Chinese—but huge credit to our guide for really trying her best to communicate with us. She was very helpful and made sure we still enjoyed the experience, so definitely 5 stars for her effort. Lunch: We had lunch with the group, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it. The place didn’t seem very hygienic, so it’s better to bring your own food or eat somewhere else. Tour: The town itself is absolutely beautiful. It really preserves that ancient charm even in modern times—it felt magical walking around. Definitely still worth visiting and taking the tour.

Our tour guide (导游徐) contacted us via WeChat a day before the tour. The bus pickup was quite punctual, and our guide gave an extensive introduction about Wuzhen on the way there! There are optional add-ons (e.g., boat ride, lunch, and audio guide), which are not included in the tour package. We opted for lunch only, which we shared at a table with other tourists on the same tour bus! The time allocated to explore the place was also sufficient!

Revisar para: Excursão de 1 dia às antigas cidades de Dongzha e Xizha em Wuzhen [ida e volta de Xangai]

Although my day trip to Wuzhen was short, walking through Dongzha and Xizha from morning till night still allowed me to experience the unique charm of a Jiangnan water town. By day, it's a misty, rainy town; by night, it's illuminated by countless lights. The same river and the same rooftops present completely different scenery at different times. I started in Dongzha in the morning. Dongzha retains a more original sense of daily life. In the narrow alleys of the old street, you'll find residential houses with clothes drying and couplets hanging, and the stone-paved paths underfoot are polished smooth by time. Strolling along the river, with white-walled, black-tiled houses on one side and gently flowing water on the other, and lanterns occasionally hanging from the eaves, the scene comes alive like old photographs. Stepping into various small museums, such as the Blue Calico Printing and Dyeing Workshop and the Wine Brewery, you can see the tools and processes of traditional handicrafts, and better understand that an "ancient town" is not just a backdrop for photos, but a way of life that truly existed. In the afternoon, I moved to Xizha, where the atmosphere was distinctly different. Xizha's streets are wider and its planning is more complete, with guesthouses, coffee shops, and creative cultural stores one after another. Compared to Dongzha's sense of daily life, Xizha has more of a resort town feel. I specifically took a sculling boat ride, slowly moving towards the end of Xizha along the waterway. Sitting on the boat and looking out at both sides, I could see riverside inns, wooden windows, and stone bridges slowly passing by, as if I had become part of this ink wash painting. Compared to walking, boating truly conveys the meaning of "water town." On the way back, walking along the water's edge, I could see many inns built by the river, with river views right outside their wooden windows. I made a special effort to queue up for the famous local shredded radish cake. A long line snaked in front of the small shop, and the air was filled with the aroma of fried dough and radish. When it was my turn, I received a freshly baked, still warm shredded radish cake. Taking a bite, the outer crust was crispy, and the inside was savory, juicy, and delicious. Standing on the stone-paved street of the ancient town, enjoying the evening breeze and a hot snack, that moment was more satisfying than any formal meal and became one of my most "human-touch" memories of Wuzhen. After dusk, Xizha's night view was the highlight of the entire trip. As the sky slowly darkened, the lanterns along the river and the outline lights of the buildings lit up one by one, reflecting on the water, making the entire river seem illuminated. There were more tourists, but in some quieter corners, I could still find an alley with only myself and the sound of the water. This day trip to Dongzha and Xizha, though a bit rushed with many places only seen in passing, still yielded many rewards. Dongzha showed me more "authentic" traces of life, allowing me to imagine the daily routines of residents washing clothes, drying them, and chatting there in the past. Xizha, on the other hand, felt like a stage prepared for modern travelers, with the ancient town decorated to be more comfortable and photogenic, and more suitable for a leisurely stay. The combination of these two styles gave me a more three-dimensional impression of a "water town." On the way back, recalling the stone-paved paths of the day and the illuminated river at night, I felt that the value of travel might not lie in "how many sights you visit," but in whether you truly slow down at some moment and attentively observe the scenery around you. Wuzhen gave me just such an opportunity to temporarily press the fast-forward button on life.

I had such a wonderful experience on my Wuzhen tour! My guide was Chinese and didn’t speak English, but she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and understood everything. She was so kind, sweet, and attentive – always checking up on me and guiding me where I needed to go, even though I don’t understand Chinese. Thanks to her, I felt well taken care of the entire time. Wuzhen itself is absolutely beautiful, full of charm and history, and the tour was well organized and enjoyable. Even with the language difference, I truly had a great time and would definitely recommend this tour to others.

I will highly recommend this day tour package. Both the tour guides (Guide Liu & Guide Su) explained everything in detail, and the arrangements were really good and smooth. I chose the West Gate only because I was traveling with a child and we had more time to walk around. Taking the boat ride is highly recommended too. The view in Wuzhen is truly stunning, whether by day or night. Thanks to the tour guides and bus driver for their patience and great attitude.

Everything was fine - the itinerary, the price, and the set meal lunch (not a buffet). The only issue was the excessive regrouping (understandable, as the company was trying to maximize seats and lower costs - which I appreciate). Everything was fine, until the end… the bus set off to take us back, then had to stop and wait… for passengers who had boarded the wrong coaches to come and board our coach. This happened not once, but twice. The second time, the wait was really long, so the trip back to the drop-off points was significantly delayed.
