My tour guide today is a local who was born and raised here. He shared many interesting facts and life experiences he had in Taichung during the tour. I am also fascinated by this city; the vibe and history here are amazing.

Stephanie was very accommodating. And oh, I was the only one booked 😅 It's nice they didn't cancel my tour even though I was the only person for that day.

The introduction was very detailed. I had never learned about Taichung's history before, and it was a deeply moving experience.

It's almost impossible to find a walking tour team in Taiwan that offers daily services, so I was surprised to discover TC TIME WALK in Taichung. Their Chinese and English guided tours are very fluent, and the staff is incredibly diverse, with different people leading tours almost every day. Each guide has their own expertise, and the age range is so broad! I highly recommend their services; they truly make Taichung more international. I fully support them!

Our tour guide, Joyce, made sure that we really enjoyed this walking tour! The pace was just right, and we got to try some local tea and snacks! Joyce also made sure the mini tour group had some interaction through sharing of snacks and the like! Great experience!

Here's an honest review: 1. Tour Process Before the tour began, we waited for all participants to arrive. During this time, we were either told to use the restroom or simply stood on the street waiting. Once everyone had gathered, we were asked to introduce ourselves one by one on the street. 2. Guide's Conduct Upon arriving at each location, after a brief explanation, the guide spent more time chatting with specific guests rather than providing overall care. It was difficult to ask questions when the guide was engaged in conversation. The guide also took photos with guests in the background, focusing on themselves, but didn't take photos for guests or provide time for guests to take their own photos. 3. Language and Participant Composition The tour was conducted in English, and the guide maintained a bright and cheerful demeanor throughout the explanations. However, more than half of the participants were from Taiwan, and the entire tour revolved around them. The guide spent most of their time conversing with them, and when questions or quizzes were posed, they participated by looking up answers on their phones. I believe the tour should have been structured to differentiate between locals and foreign visitors. 4. Tour Conclusion It was also disappointing that the guide's attention significantly decreased after the 'tip time,' which they seemed to prioritize most. At the end, the Taiwanese group gathered and chatted among themselves, while the rest of us were simply waved goodbye. 5. Overall Assessment Considering these points, although it might have been a particularly large group of Taiwanese participants on that day, I find this tour difficult to recommend to other foreign visitors. I felt that a more balanced operation and consideration were needed. I almost let it go, but I'm writing this review because while some might have had a good time, if there had been a detailed review like this, I probably wouldn't have chosen this tour. I hope this helps others make good use of their valuable time and money.
