Tsumago and Magome are picturesque post towns that offer a glimpse into how the daimyo used to travel to and from Tokyo and Kyoto. Kim, our very knowledgeable and accommodating guide, shared many interesting tidbits about the places we passed, which made the hike even more rewarding.

This tour made it super simple and stress free getting to the Nakasendo trail. Our driver was lovely and always on time. Our tour guide Kim was not only super friendly but had heaps of great information about the history of the trail and also for all our random questions. She even made sure to grab some extra umbrellas when the weather turned! The hike itself was beautiful and Kim made sure we stopped in all the good photo places. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Great experience and walk in part of the Nakasendo trail that is organised by Snow Monkey. Fantastic drive by Iwasaki-san and the nice comfortable walk was led by Kim who was not only knowledgeable but also considerate to all going at a slower rate. A good trip to cover this section.

Great tour. Enough time for everything. Both the tour guides, Kim and Camille, were great; helpful, informative, entertaining. Driver is polite and drives safely. Bus is clean. Definitely worth every dollar. Not possible to do this tour on my own.

Friendly and knowledgeable guides who took care of our needs every bit. The big bus is extremely comfortable, making the long journey less challenging. The hike is not for beginners but a good experience for those who are moderately fit. Definitely recommended to join Kim and Snowmonkeys company for this tour!

Well-organized tour with Kim as an excellent guide. The tour starts in Tsumago and ends with a hike to Magome. The hike itself is relatively easy and manageable. All in all, it's a worthwhile experience.

A fantastic day of hiking and visiting Tsumago-juku and Magome-juku, with wonderful scenery. The route starts from Tsumago-juku, where we imagine ourselves as travelers from the Edo period returning to our hometown of Kyoto from Tokyo, walking along the Nakasendo, experiencing a profound sense of history and the beauty of nature. The tradition of "no selling, no renting, no destroying" allows us to see houses from several hundred years ago, which is truly impressive.

Sir Israel was a very fun guide on the trail. He explained some important things about Tsumago and along the trails, offering a glimpse into history. The pace was easy, like a walk in the park. Our driver that day was also very courteous and friendly. Overall, I enjoyed this Nakasendo Trail with the team.
