Fun and mysterious Blue Grotto trip! Been wanting to go to Blue Grotto ever since I’ve been planning our Italy trip. Experience it yourself to feel the magic!
The Blue Grotto is absolutely stunning! We were so lucky to be able to go inside this time, and our guide was incredibly nice. We were very fortunate to go with him, and the person rowing even sang for us.
From Rome to Naples, then by boat to Capri, I was fortunate enough to enter the Blue Grotto. Inside the dark cave, facing the bright light, the astonishing blue sea surface made me marvel at the beauty of God's creation. The limoncello candies are a worthwhile souvenir to bring back.
My husband and I enjoyed a one-day trip to Capri, such a beautiful Italian island. Our tour guide that day was wonderful and took such good care of us. However, my husband was very sad that he couldn't go to the Blue Grotto due to the long queue during the peak summer season. (This is good, because we might come back to Italy again for our Blue Grotto trip!) 🤩
On the day of the tour, the weather was good, and we were able to see the Blue Grotto, which I had longed to visit. However, the price was unexpectedly high at 90€ per person just for the cave tour. I decided to go ahead with it, thinking it would be a shame to come all this way and not see it. We took a motorized tourist boat from the port to the cave entrance, then transferred to a small, hand-rowed boat with a capacity of three people out at sea. We had to lie down to enter because the cave entrance ceiling is very low, and the tour inside lasted only about five minutes before we reached the exit. I ended up only seeing the ceiling, and the cave was completely dark except for the light from outside. Fortunately, I was able to pay by card, which was a relief as I had brought some cash but not enough. The guide to Capri was very attentive and helpful. However, the instructions for the morning meeting point were unclear, and I got lost, so I think this needs improvement.
Gabrielle and Ileana were just superb hosts and guides
It was very good, but unfortunately the sea conditions were bad, so we couldn't enter the Blue Grotto 🥹
Going to the Blue Grotto is really a gamble. If, like me, you only want to enter the Blue Grotto and are indifferent to other attractions, you don't need to join a tour group... However, this ensures a smooth round trip.
1. The tour guide unilaterally informed us verbally that entering the Blue Grotto would require a 3-hour wait, and that time constraints would prevent us from going. However, according to the boat tickets, we were scheduled to depart for Capri at 11:10 AM and leave Capri at 4:30 PM, which provided ample time. Upon further inquiry, we learned that the three of us had an all-inclusive package (including a visit to the Blue Grotto), while the other group members were asked on the spot if they wanted to purchase boat tickets (which cost an additional 25 Euros). As a result, there weren't enough participants, so they were unwilling to arrange a boat to the Blue Grotto for a small number of people to wait for three hours. They used the excuse of a long waiting time to shirk their responsibility, leading to us paying a high fee but having to accommodate other group members who didn't want to participate, and thus we could only explore the island freely. 2. The itinerary stated hotel pick-up and drop-off, but upon returning from Naples to Rome, we were dropped off in front of Piazza del Popolo, with no pick-up vehicle waiting for us. When we asked the tour guide, they said we should inquire with your platform. Ultimately, we spent 18 Euros to take an Uber back to our hotel. 3. Six years ago, we didn't get to visit the Blue Grotto, so this time our family spent NT$30,000 on this tour to fulfill that dream. However, even though the Blue Grotto was open, Klook's partner vendor's passive inaction affected our rights, and we are extremely disappointed with Klook.
