Danke!
The travel pass is quite cost-effective, valid for 7 days after the first attraction use. You get to choose 3 out of 5 attractions/activities for free. I bought it in June 2025 for HK$245 per person. The Asahiyama Zoo Pass is an admission ticket + voucher. It allows entry to the zoo and a ¥800 discount for souvenirs/food. You can pick up the tickets by scanning your travel pass at the blue container shop outside the zoo. The physical ticket is convenient to use. The zoo is large, with many different types of animals and birds, and the facilities are excellent, making it well worth a visit. I also chose the Jozankei Onsen Day Trip Pass, which includes a full-day free bus and an onsen ticket. First, you pick up the tickets at the office behind the TV Tower entrance. The bus ticket can be used on any day of the year (requires validation), but I didn't use it as I was driving. The onsen ticket allows you to choose one out of many hot springs. Each onsen has its own rules. The staff recommended Hoheikyo Onsen as the largest, but I had already decided to go to Nukumori no Yado Furuya before my trip. Remember to bring your own towel/bath towel; you can use the one from your hotel or buy one for ¥100 at Daiso, as onsen towels usually incur a charge. Note that Furuya Onsen is only open from 12 PM to 3 PM! There's a parking lot a little further up behind the onsen, so you can drive there. The old building uses a lot of wood, giving it a very warm feeling. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. After the staff tears your admission ticket, they will explain how to get to the men's/women's baths. Inside the bath area, there are lockers, a dressing area (with free massage chairs), changing rooms, shower areas, and the hot spring area. The facilities are well-equipped, clean, and comfortable. After soaking, you can wait for your family in the lounge on the 3rd floor. On the day I went, the lounge was booked until 1:30 PM, but I soaked until 3 PM, so it wasn't an issue. You can leave on your own after your bath. Finally, I chose the Porocle Electric Bicycle 1-Day Pass (IC card). You can pick up a bike at over 40 stations in downtown Sapporo (unmanned bicycle-only roadside parking areas). You can get the card in advance at the TV Tower. On the day you want to use it, find a bike, tap your card to activate it. It's valid for one day, ending at 11:59 PM on the day of use. It's a fully self-service system. There are two models of bikes, new and old, both red. The old model has a phone holder on the front. Before choosing a bike, press the battery button to check the charge and pick one with more power. Once selected, you cannot change bikes. Follow the instructions to activate it. For the old model, remember to check if the electric assist function is turned on before riding. There are three lights below the battery display indicating the strength of the electric assist. If it's not on, it becomes a regular bicycle, which is very heavy and hard to pedal, so remember to turn it on. When you park the bike at your destination or a convenience store, remember to lock it. In the evening, return the bike to any designated station in the city. There's a map. You cannot just leave it anywhere. Designated stations have numbers. After parking, follow the instructions to lock the bike and tap your card to complete the return. As an aside, I didn't read the travel pass terms carefully and also went to Mount Moiwa (Night View Observatory) for the round-trip cable car. Since I had already used up my 3 attractions/activities, this one cost me an additional ¥2,100 per person. You can take the cable car to the top to see Sapporo's night view. The city lights at night are sparkling and beautiful. It can get a bit chilly at night. After 8 PM, it gets very crowded, so allow time to queue for the cable car back down. Also, the travel pass included restaurant discount coupons, which I forgot to try.
Enjoy Hokkaido with the 1-Week Free Pass, which includes admission to Hoheikyo Onsen (Jozankei) with round-trip bus transportation from near Sapporo Station, the Mt. Moiwa Ropeway, and the Sapporo JR Tower Observatory T38. I redeemed the Hoheikyo Onsen (Jozankei) pass, which included round-trip bus transportation, from the Sapporo Tourist Information Center located at the Sapporo TV Tower Information Center on May 8, 2025. I had the hotel staff where I was staying book the Kappa Liner Express Bus (faster and with fewer stops) before 5 PM, and then went to Hoheikyo Onsen the next day, May 9, 2025. I used the FREE shuttle bus to the Mt. Moiwa Ropeway Base Station and showed them the QR code to redeem the round-trip admission ticket. Similarly, for the "Sapporo JR Tower Observatory T38," simply show the QR code to redeem the admission ticket.
It felt worth the price paid. The voucher was easy to redeem, very convenient. Seeing the beautiful high-angle views from both Sapporo TV Tower and Mount Moiwa Ropeway was already worth it. It could also be used at Asahiyama Zoo, but we didn't go, which is a bit of a shame. Additionally, there are discounts at many restaurants. Extremely good value!

This is the best free offer. You get to visit 3 sites after buying the JR Pass. Visit: 1. Asahikawa Zoo + 800 yen voucher (food or souvenir), the exchange is a short distance walk away from the main entrance. The staff will direct you where to redeem. Do not worry. 2. Mt Moiwa cable car to view the Sapporo city view. Amazing scenery. 3. Sapporo TV tower. Quite nice. Overall, it is a super good deal.
1. This was a free gift with the Hokkaido Rail Pass. Please note that regardless of how many passes you purchase in one order, you will only receive one Hokkaido Enjoy Pass and one eSIM card. Therefore, we purchased them using separate accounts. 2. With the Enjoy Pass, you can choose to redeem 3 items. At Asahiyama Station, I redeemed A. Asahiyama Zoo Value Ticket (including zoo admission for 1000 yen and a 800 yen discount for shopping and dining inside the zoo, total value 1800 yen), and the Mt. Moiwa round-trip ropeway ticket, valued at 1800 yen. C. I had planned to redeem the Sapporo TV Tower ticket for 1000 yen, but I didn't due to rain and didn't have time later in the trip, so I didn't redeem it. Since it was a free gift, I felt like I got a great deal!
Although most of the activities are in Asahikawa (this trip was all in the Sapporo area), it's still highly recommended! I chose to go up the Sapporo TV Tower and visit Jozankei Onsen. I originally planned to see the night view from Mount Moiwa, but it was too cold, so I didn't go. For the TV Tower, you just need to show the QR code directly. For Jozankei Onsen, remember to exchange your ticket at the tourist information center on the 1st floor of the TV Tower (closes at 18:30). After getting your ticket, I recommend booking the Kappa Liner online. I didn't book it this time and took a regular bus, and I didn't even get a seat for the first half of the journey. This package is highly recommended.
