Ilha de Alcatraz e City Tour em São Francisco

The tour was well organized, and we were able to see many beautiful places in the San Francisco neighborhood. We also saw Alcatraz prison island and experienced a bit of what it's like to be a prisoner.

This itinerary is suitable for first-time visitors to San Francisco who want a quick overview of the entire Bay Area. (suitable for first time to SF) The city day tour mainly visits places that are difficult to reach on foot or by public transport. If you factor in the cost of MUNI transportation, the tour is actually quite cost-effective, though there aren't many stops. The main attractions include: 1. Golden Gate Bridge / 20 min 2. Sutro Baths / 20 min 3. Twin Peaks / 15 min After the tour, we will first return to the original pick-up location to drop off those not participating in the Alcatraz tour, then proceed directly to Alcatraz Landing (Pier 33). We will arrive at Pier 33 around 12:40 PM, with boarding scheduled for 1:10 PM. Please prepare your boarding pass and a photo ID to exchange for your ferry ticket at the ticket office. There will be many people, so it's recommended to queue early (there won't be much time for lunch, so it's advisable to bring your own or buy food on the ferry, as no food is sold on the island). There are restrictions on the outbound ferry schedule, so you cannot board earlier or later. However, there are no restrictions for the return journey; you can simply queue at the pier without needing to exchange tickets again. Finally, Alcatraz Island is definitely worth a visit. If I have the chance to visit SF a second time, I would still want to go again!

When we departed, a group of people were 7 minutes late, so the tour guide left. Punctuality is a must! Most of the time was spent in the car, with only 3 stops for photos: North Beach, the Visitor Center for Golden Gate Bridge photos, and the Palace of Fine Arts, in that order. The rest of the time was spent in the car, with the tour guide/driver providing a detailed introduction to SFO's history. A Chinese audio guide would have been even better. The tour ended at Pier 33, dropping people off for their afternoon activities around 12:15 PM. The afternoon visit to Alcatraz was scheduled for the 1:05 PM ferry, which could not be changed. Tickets had to be exchanged 45 minutes prior, making the schedule very tight with no time for lunch. After exchanging tickets, there was still a queue to board the ferry. Therefore, it's recommended to bring simple snacks in the morning to eat on the ferry, or sandwiches are also sold on board. This part of the itinerary was poorly arranged; it would have been better to swap the morning and afternoon activities. The Alcatraz audio tour was excellent, and the audio guides, including a Chinese option, were exchanged upon arrival on the island. There were also signs indicating the exchange route, so even those with limited English could find it. Klook also provided quick notifications after successful booking. Overall, it was a worthwhile experience!

It was a great experience. Although it was pouring like cats and dogs on the day we went, it was still a good one!

Agent was prompt in Response with clear email instructions on meeting point and need to know. Tour guide Michelle was excellent sharing many interesting historical info and facts. I liked the palace of fine arts and all the hop off/on locations even though it is very short 15mins each stop. Driver(Sam) was polite and ride was smooth. Drop off in time for boarding to Alcatraz. The tour guide for the city tour was very kind and polite, and provided very detailed explanations. Most of the explanations were given on the bus, and because the group members were mainly domestic tourists from other US states, the speaking pace was quite fast. A certain level of English listening comprehension is required to best enjoy the tour. We were given appropriate time to get off and take photos at each attraction. The Alcatraz portion included a visit to the prison interior, an introduction to the history of conflict between American colonists and indigenous people, and issues such as discrimination and misconduct inherent in prison policies, which was very worthwhile.

The city attractions are explained by the driver and guide along the way. In the afternoon, a visit to Alcatraz is highly recommended, with Chinese audio guides available to help you immerse yourself in the historical context and have a fulfilling day.
