Aula de Culinária Cultural com Ramen, Sushi e Cerimônia do Chá

Chef Katsuji and his wife Mayumi welcomed us into their beautiful home for a wonderful morning. We started with a tea ceremony, before learning to prepare 5 types of sushi and ramen to Katsuji's own secret recipe. And then we feasted! At the end, we were gifted with handwritten cards, containing our names and a personalised message to each of us. Katsuji and Mayumi were amazing, generous and kind hosts and teachers. I learnt more knife skills in a couple of hours here than I had in 30 years of cooking for myself! Our son, although a little nervous with raw fish, tried everything and loved the ramen particularly. He formed a lovely bond with our hosts and talks about how much he loved the lesson and would love to do it again. This is absolutely one of the best experiences we've had anywhere - not just Japan - and highly recommend to everyone.

Katsuji and his wife Mayumi are walking warmth and kindness. My husband and I took this class as part of our 15 year anniversary (trip to Japan). we selected this class specifically because it allowed us to learn the art behind some of our favorite dishes and we got to learn how to cut the fish for sushi. From the moment they greeted us to walking us out the door we felt like family. The joy this couple has for what they do is contagious. We got a one on one experience, so many laughs, a delicious lunch and a special souvenir to take home. This was my husband's favorite experience and mine too. Thank you both for being so welcoming. Katsuji is a man larger than life. He has the most welcoming house and an unforgettable smile on his face at all times. He went above and beyond in every single way, we could not be more amazed. The highlight of our Japan trip! Our cooking and ramen class with Chef Katsuji and his wife Mayumi was the absolute highlight of our entire trip to Japan. Their warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality made the experience unforgettable. From the moment we stepped into their home, we felt like welcomed guests rather than customers. The food we prepared—and devoured—was truly incredible. Chef Katsuji’s passion and expertise shone through in every step. Our teenage boys laughed, learned and appreciated the chefs lessons and spirit One of the most touching parts of the evening was the calligraphy drawing and personal messages they created for us. It was such a thoughtful and meaningful gesture—one we’ll always cherish. The reviews we read before booking were glowing, and now we understand why. Every word was 100% accurate. From the moment we arrived at his beautiful home, we were greeted with the warmest hospitality from Katsuji and his wonderful staff member, Bubu. Their genuine friendliness and eagerness to share their passion for Japanese cuisine set the tone for a truly exceptional experience. The class itself was an absolute joy. Katsuji is not only an incredibly skilled chef but also a fantastic teacher who makes every step of the cooking process engaging and enjoyable. We learned to prepare both exquisite ramen and sushi, and the flavors were out of this world—elevated by Katsuji's expert guidance and his knack for making cooking fun. What made this experience even more special were the shared laughs and the welcoming atmosphere that Katsuji and Bubu fostered throughout the class. The handmade calligraphy art that we received as a take-home gift was a lovely and thoughtful touch, allowing us to remember this unique and memorable experience every time we look at it. Wow! On this 3 week journey of Japan, this has been the best thing! Chef Katsuji and his wonderful wife Mayumi are a perfect example of Japan and its culture. This class was more than cooking, and that in itself was awesome, these beautiful people opened their home to share their skills and culture and made you feel very welcome. Thank you Chef and Mayumi we will never forget your generous hospitality. I will forever recommend this class as long as it is available.

Chef Katsuji and her wonderful wife Mayumi were so kind to open up their beautiful home to me and my Mom for a once-in-a-lifetime mother-daughter bonding experience. We loved how they were so attentive starting from waiting for us (bec we were late for about 30mins- we got lost a bit 😅) and even driving us back to the station (in Chef's sports car!) We loved the matcha tea ceremony and making our own sushi! My mom ultimately loved their special Ramen! We will treasure the calligraphy souvenir and we can't wait to try Chef's very own curry! We promise to recommend this Klook activity to our friends and families! Thank you again, Chef Katsuji and Mayumi! We will be back soon and see you in our dreams! 😉
