This tour is a great way to learn about and experience the history and culture of New Zealand. We traveled in a small van, visiting Wai-O-Tapu first and then Te Puia. Wai-O-Tapu was mystical with a strong sulfur smell. The walking routes (A, B, and C) are long, but there’s enough time, so I recommend going through Route B. Even without much stamina, it was easy to complete. The ice cream at the shop was also delicious — especially the popular vanilla with honeycomb 🍨 Te Puia was the highlight. I wasn’t very interested at first, but the haka performance was powerful and the performers were passionate, making it a truly enjoyable cultural experience. We also learned about Māori history and saw kiwi birds. The kiwi enclosure is small and dark, so if you’re visiting with young children, please keep an eye on them while being mindful of others and ensuring safety. The ride was quite bumpy, but overall it was a very fulfilling tour. I highly recommend it!

Geweldige reis. Grant, onze gids van Cheeky Kiwi Tours, was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. James van Hobbiton gaf uitstekend commentaar. We moesten kiezen tussen Te Puia en Waitomo. Beide konden niet gedaan worden. Tirau was niet inbegrepen in de reis.

Very patient with our group, incredibly helpful throughout the entire journey, and full of informative insights about the coastline and local wildlife. The drive was smooth, comfortable, and stress-free from start to finish. Highly recommend booking a tour with them!

We hebben zo'n heerlijke tijd gehad bij deze warmwaterbron. De sfeer was vredig, de watertemperatuur was precies goed en de omgeving maakte de ervaring nog specialer. De faciliteiten waren schoon en goed onderhouden, en het personeel was vriendelijk en gastvrij. Absoluut een van de hoogtepunten van onze reis!

Geweldige kajaktocht + bezichtiging van de glimwormgrot. Jacob was een geweldige gids en gaf ons zeer gedetailleerde informatie over glimwormen. Veel van hem geleerd. Jacob en zijn partner waren erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De tour verliep soepel onder hun leiding. Behalve dat mijn groep een beetje te groot was.
