Truly amazing! We used professional astronomical telescopes to see so many fascinating celestial bodies! We saw Venus, which has phases just like the moon; the stunning Tarantula Nebula, which is a birthplace of beautiful baby stars; the Wishing Well Cluster; the gorgeous, jewel-like 47 Tucanae cluster; and Saturn with its rings. It was just incredible! Despite the cold weather, there was hot cocoa and a roasted marshmallow activity! Plus, everyone gets a professional photo of the starry sky. Definitely worthy of a 5-star review!

Dit was de eerste keer dat ik deelnam aan een sterrenkijktocht, en het was goedkoper dan via de officiële website. De service was uitstekend; je hoeft je geen zorgen te maken over warme kleding, want ze bieden donsjassen uit één stuk aan. Er waren wel vier of vijf maten beschikbaar! Het enige minpunt was dat de avond van onze tour de vijftiende dag van de eerste maanmaand was, wat volle maan betekende. Dit had invloed op het sterrenkijken en was iets minder indrukwekkend dan ik had verwacht. Het 'Dark Sky Project' brengt je van de voet van de berg naar het observatoriumreservaat, waar een specialist uitleg geeft over diverse astronomische verschijnselen. Tussendoor wordt gevraagd of er vragen zijn over astronomie. Als je niet bekend bent met de twaalf planeten en bepaalde professionele astronomische Engelse termen, kan het soms wat lastig zijn om alles te begrijpen. Ze bieden echter ook eerdere sessies in het Chinees aan. Bovendien gebruiken ze de supergrote astronomische telescoop in het observatorium, wat voor mij een primeur was en ik vond het zeer bijzonder en een zeldzame kans! Maar als je in de buurt van nieuwe maan of volle maan gaat, raad ik je aan niet deel te nemen, omdat het dan mogelijk teleurstellend kan zijn.

De 45 minuten durende rondleiding bij de Tekapo kinderboerderij is een leuke en interactieve ervaring, vooral omdat de toegang één doosje voer per persoon omvat. De dieren – waaronder Merinoschapen, alpaca's, KuneKune varkens en kalfjes – zijn ongelooflijk schattig, vriendelijk en aanhankelijk terwijl je ze met de hand voert. Zorg ervoor dat je goed luistert naar de instructies van de gids aan het begin voor ieders veiligheid. Het enige nadeel is dat de tourgroepen behoorlijk druk kunnen worden, soms tot wel 20 mensen tegelijk.

The stargazing experience was beautifully organized and exceeded our expectations. Being surrounded by the peaceful night sky and seeing so many stars with our own eyes was simply breathtaking. The atmosphere was calm, magical, and incredibly relaxing — a wonderful escape from the busy city life.

The overall itinerary and flow were exceptionally well put together! Although the sky wasn't entirely clear at first, the VR experience allowed us to feel the vastness of the universe. Through the astronomical telescope, we saw the Gemini constellation and star clusters with our own eyes, displaying distinct and unique colors. Soaking in the warm, comfortable hot springs while floating quietly, we searched for the Southern Cross and identified the center of the zenith. We also listened to the ancient stories of Scorpius and Orion eternally battling and chasing each other across the starry sky. Site lighting management was executed perfectly, preserving the dark sky environment and allowing our eyes to fully adapt to the dark to see the sea of stars as clearly as possible. The guide from the United States was engaging and fun, and you could genuinely feel her immense passion for the night sky. This was an unforgettable experience, and anyone visiting Tekapo should definitely try it!

Een absolute aanrader, ondanks dat het wat prijziger is. We hebben adembenemende uitzichten op Mount Cook gezien. We hadden het geluk om de eersten te zijn om 10 uur 's ochtends; je moet wel eerder aankomen, om 9.45 uur, voor een veiligheidsbriefing. De landing op de sneeuw verliep zeer veilig en soepel, de sneeuw was nog kniediep. Al met al een 10/10 ervaring.

We didn't end up seeing the stars because it was too cloudy. The person in charge was very helpful and rescheduled for us, but even on the new date, they said we wouldn't be able to see anything, so we didn't go. KLOOK quickly arranged a refund.

Klook pass does really save you some money and it's easy to also book the attractions. Just be warned that the standalone package dates and time availability is different from the klook pass

We booked a Queenstown to Christchurch transfer tour for June 26th. From the start, communication was seamless; the reception team quickly answered all pre-trip questions and sent helpful safety reminders. Everything was perfectly well-prepared. The driving was exceptionally safe. Our morning guide was high-energy, sharing great local stories. The guides clearly love their jobs and the NZ landscape, taking us to secret viewpoints with plenty of photo time. Their boss even called ahead during the trip to check road conditions after recent snow—a thoughtful touch. They also saved our day at Mt Cook by providing ice spikes when we realized our running shoes weren't enough, alongside water and snacks. The transition to the next leg was seamless. The lady who took over was highly responsible, ensuring we forgot nothing and waiting with us. Finally, our Christchurch driver safely dropped everyone off right at their respective hotels on time.
