Jeg tok dette Statue of Liberty Express Cruise i New York i dag, og ærlig talt viste det seg å være en flott avgjørelse. Først var jeg usikker på om jeg skulle velge dette eller den gratis Staten Island Ferry, men etter å ha sett noen YouTube-videoer, innså jeg at dette cruiset ville gi mye bedre og nærmere utsikt til Frihetsgudinnen – og det gjorde det absolutt. Jeg betalte rundt 25 dollar, noe jeg synes er absolutt verdt det. Siden jeg reiste en ukedag ettermiddag, var fergen overraskende lite folksom, noe som ga meg god plass og tid til å ta bilder uten stress. Cruiset er veldig godt vedlikeholdt og har flere sitteplasser. Det er et åpent toppdekk med fantastisk utsikt over byens silhuett, pluss innendørs dekk for folk som ønsker å holde seg varme i kaldere vær. Guiden var også utmerket – veldig morsom, informativ og forklarte New Yorks silhuett og nærliggende landemerker veldig bra. Hele turen varte rundt 45–50 minutter. Komfortabelt, naturskjønt og definitivt verdt pengene.

This is the second time I've booked this tour which says a lot. The first time was for a solo trip, and this second time was bringing around family. The Tour guide Jay was amazing as he shared a lot of history about the islands and the statue and was very fun and enthusiastic as well.

Enkel ombordstigning! De fleste gikk ut på det åpne dekket, men jeg foretrakk det avec-klimatiserte dekket. Trengte ikke å løse inn billetter, Klook QR-kode var alt de trengte. Guiden gikk rundt med mikrofon, men det var knapt mulig å høre ham.

Our JAL flight arriving in New York from Haneda was delayed by about 3 hours, so we had to cancel our originally planned Top of the Rock tour. We booked this tour very last minute instead. It was our first time in New York, but we were able to get a great overview of the city's scenery. We were able to make great use of the 30,000 yen in points we got at Klook's Harajuku event this time. Thank you so much, Chieru-san and Ryukru-san.

This tour ended up being just for me, as no one else showed up. I was very lucky! The guide was extremely familiar with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which made navigating it very comfortable. Their explanations were thorough, and I'm truly glad I took this tour.

Det var fint å få høre forklaringer og ulike historier om New Yorks landemerker fra en guide som kommer derfra. Noen av historiene, som var sentrert rundt amerikansk kultur, var imidlertid litt vanskelige for en utlending å forstå. Likevel vil jeg rette en takk til guiden Gary, som presenterte New York med stor innsats og bød på morsomme stemmeimitasjoner!
