Pretty nice hotel to stay at - modern interior and traditional facade. It would have been nicer for the rooms to be a bit more spacious and for the coin laundry to have more than one wash/dry combo but that is just a personal preference.

I recently booked two nights at Candeo Hotels Kyoto Karasuma Rokkaku. The location was great, 2 minutes walk and you get a local supermarket Fresco with many options to choose from. The hotel itself was nice, standard room was decent size for Japan’s standard. Though the socket and lights switches seem to be in odd positions and a bit hard to find initially. The public bath was also decent sized, opened for usage throughout the night. However, beware that the positions of the individual shower section are next to the entrance, so essentially anyone standing at the entrance would see who is showering, which becomes quite embarrassing given the door at the entrance has a transparent glass. Also, since we came during winter, beware that once you leave the room, you are exposed to outside temperature because the corridor within the hotel is open space, so it is not too ideal to come during winter. But overall, the experience was reasonable.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Treat yourself to the stay. Super cute and traditional hotel whilst having the full modern amenity. location is amazing too.

THE LOCATRION WAS VERY CENTRAL, IT WAS SO EASY TO GO AROUND AND EXPLORE KYOTO, THE ATMOSPHERE AND HOTEL WAS VERY CLEAN AND COZY, TRULY A VERY NICE PLACE TO STAY TO EXPERIENCE THE BEAUTY OF KYOTO

This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The room is very clean, and the location is convenient—just a short distance from Karasuma Oike Station with plenty of restaurants nearby. It’s a very comfortable and relaxing hotel.

I loved the onsen and the charming mix between tradition and modern.

Location is near a "mini" train station that's a few stops from a big station. Near big "attractions" like Nishiki market and Gion district. Hotel looks impressive and the room looks good too. If I were to nitpick, it'll be (1) there was a strand of hair in my conditioner bottle, (2) the air vents were very dusty, (3) despite putting the do not disturb sign, they leave a bag of fresh towels and bottles every single day, I know some people may like this but, I can continue using my current towels, I don't need a fresh set every day, what happened to being environmentally friendly? (4) I travelled solo, but I requested for a big bed (king queen size?) but it's two super (?) singles combined into 1 which isn't a problem if it doesn't feel like two separate beds, but because I can feel it being two separate beds, my sleep was not comfortable if I take the middle area.

Great Hotel and great position! It is near the metro station and near the Main Streets just by walking 15/20 minutes. It has spa for men/women and it was perfect to go at the end of days of waking around. The only little thing to note is that there is just 2 laundry machine and one dryer and sometimes you have to wait a little longer to use it because some people will leave their clothes inside. overall everything was good.
