the location of the hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. Our first night was unpleasant because the heater is broken. But after raising it, they allow us to change rooms with working heater. Kanazawa is beautiful

Hotel Livemax Kanazawa was about 10mins to the train station. You can definitely walk to/from it. Just do not do it on a snowy day with big luggages because it was so hard to trudge along. Staff hardly speaks English, we managed to point and just bow with each other. There was a great ramen place around the corner just google it.

Was able to book this hotel for two nights at a very low price on the last minute. It's a bit farther than my initial choices (some were right at Kanazawa station) but definitely walkable even when there's snow. You could walk a portion that's under the rail so it's shaded.
Staff is only available at limited times so they can't store your luggage. Fortunately, they let me check in early without any extra fees. Toiletries are available, and there's a water dispenser at the lobby. Both microwave and refrigerator were inside the room.
