We recently stayed overnight at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour and, overall, had a satisfactory experience. The room was comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful birthday surprise a cute kangaroo stuffed toy, which was a lovely touch. That said, we felt the service could be improved. Although the official check-in time was 3:00 pm, we arrived around noon and weren’t able to check in until after 3pm. We understand that rooms may not always be ready early, but the delay beyond the stated check-in time was disappointing. We also visited the Champagne Bar to redeem our welcome drinks. Unfortunately, our order was forgotten, and after waiting about 20 minutes, we had to follow up with the staff before our drinks were served. These weren’t major issues, but they did affect what we expected to be a seamless luxury hotel experience. We still enjoyed our stay and appreciated the birthday gesture, but we hope the service can be more attentive and efficient in the future.
