Solo stay

Beautiful property staffed by efficient, knowledgeable and kind staff. The location is at the edge of and perfectly placed for walking/exploring the narrow alleys and walkways of the historical district, but for easy arrival/departure adjacent to main roadways. Kurashiki's historical district is one of the most attractive old towns in Japan, I think. Well worth the visit.

I loved this hotel. It was a short taxi ride from the train station and located right on the edge of the historical quarter and had access directly into it. Room was compact but clean and comfortable. I highly recommend a stay here

Kurashiki Ivy Square is a multi-purpose tourist complex featuring a hotel and cultural facilities, created by preserving and repurposing the original site of the Kurashiki Spinning Works (now Kurabo), founded in the Meiji era. In 2007, the founding factory buildings were designated as a Heritage of Industrial Modernization by the Japanese government for their significant contributions to the modernization of Japan's industry. The complex includes hands-on craft workshop facilities as well as shops offering a wide selection of local Kurashiki handicrafts, folk art, and regional sweets. In 2020, all guest rooms were renovated into warm, inviting spaces with natural wood elements, designed to reflect the mild climate of Okayama.
