Peaceful retreat in the forest:
This gorgeous 12 room modern hotel is an oasis of calm! Shuttle pick ip from Nagisu station or the end of the Nagasendo trail parking lot makes this hotel easily accessible for those who really want to get off of the beach track! The hotel is surrounded by greenery. It boasts an outstanding traditional restaurant with an incredible kaiseki set menu for dinner. Breakfast is also provided. Private rooms for dining are available. The beautiful onsen has outdoor wooden baths as well, allowing one to soak in nature, literally!

We enjoyed an AMAZING stay at Hotel Fukinomori! The rooms were immaculate. The onsens were incredible! !The staff was very kind and helpful. The shuttle service was perfect for transporting us back and forth to the train and bus stations. We highly recommend staying here.

This location was ideal for us because of its remote location. We had no difficulty with accessibility to it, because the hotel offered complimentary shuttle service to and from the local train station if you pre-arranged it in advance. Food was locally sourced and exceptional in quality. The outdoor baths were relaxing as they were set among the forest. Loved the friendliness of the staff. We had no problem communicating in Japanese but did find some of the Indian staff speaking English with us difficult to understand. This accommodation was perfect for a brief respite after the Nakasendo trail.

This ryokan was beautiful with a spacious room and great mountain views. The onsen was particularly nice with indoor and outdoor mineral baths, a cold plunge, and a sauna. There was also a private shower in our room if you aren’t interested in the onsen experience. The half board was good but served traditional local Japanese food - great for the adventurous eater but it may not be for everyone. Though I found enough familiar things to feel full at dinner and breakfast. It was a special place, great for relaxation but probably not appropriate for children. We wished we had more days there to soak in the natural surroundings and just relax.

The location for this property in the mountains is absolutely stunning. We drove up and found it easily. The room was such a delight. It was well looked after the beds were very comfortable. The view was amazing. There was a lovely coffee lounge with a beautiful view which we didn’t use, but was well equipped. We were lucky enough to use the fly on. Both of our dinners and breakfast was absolutely delicious. It was an amazing experience with the thoughtful presentation with so many Japanese style dishes. We really enjoyed the dining room which made it feel like your own private room. The staff were all really friendly and spoke English. The menu is on the two nights were different so we got to sample so much different food which was beautifully prepared.

Fantastic There is daily pickup from kiso fukushima stations 1530 1630 n 1730 hrs n departure 1000.
Facility looks great! I was wow-ed upon arrival. The room is very huge and spacious with full amenities.
There is even a private onsen (1 time slot given) which is unique. The public onsen has booth indoor n outdoor.
The dining experience is fantastic. You hace your own traditional Jap room. Food is very nice
There is a dedicated stargazing platform qhich is great though i was there solo and not so conducive to stay long coz seemed scary lol.

The lounge are was very nice as well as the public onsen. We were disappointed with the breakfast and dinner—tastes very subpar. The private onsen also disappointing…..you cannot view the stars as advertised since it is enclosed, the onsen is not from a natural hot spring. The rooms are dated. Value for money is lacking.
