FantasticSuperior Japanese-style No Smoking With open air bath · 2 Adults · 1 Nights
this is a good ryokan located about an hour’s drive away from Asahikawa city center to consider. Best if you are self driving, but there are buses that take you closeby to the hotel, apparently. The onsen water is intentionally (?) left quite untreated. So, you will see an oil-like film on the surface. It is not oil, though! I thought that the price was rather on-par with similar ryokans. Food was good too.

Very tranquil environment with relaxing onsen and great food. Friendly staff and gave us a very welcoming reception.
