The Kyoto Sake Tasting and Food pairing was one of the highlights of our trip! We learned so much about all of the different types of sake and the tasting helped us find out what kind we like. Plus, we have knowledge about how to identify what is being served when we order! The instructor, Mayo, was the best! She was patient and very knowledgeable about sake. She very clearly explained the lesson and built on each thing we learned which helped the info to stick! She even provided us with the pdf of the presentation we went through in the tasting. We just got back to the U.S. and are planning to recreate the event for our friends! Hopefully we can explain to our friends as well as Mayo did for us. This was a great way to learn about sake and about the production of it in Kyoto. This event is definitely a must to learn more about Japanese culture and have a great time! Thanks, Mayo!

Naoko was a great guide! She started our tour with a bit of history on the walk to the first Izakaya. We shared a great meal with unique dishes and then tried a sale bar and a whiskey bar. Thanks, Naoko!

Mayo was an excellent host. She was passionate about teaching her knowledge of Sake to us and the process of how it is made. Many good tips for choosing type you like and how to find this on bottles. Food pairing was good to show contrasting flavours when drunk with food.

Amazing tasting, Host very knowledgeable. First half is about sake, how to understand the labels and what to expect based on it. Second half is tasting 7 different examples so you can decide what you like. Highly recommended

Crash course to become a Sake expert (-ish) especially when walking into a store or an ezakaya after the course! found my favorite sale style and happy to say I know how to read sake labels now. Patrick was great and informative also kept the session lively.
