This plan is perfect, the guide gives the option of paying an additional one to go to the top by cable car, but in my view it is not necessary, with the initial plan they offer from the chairs and going down the slide is enough, and there are better views in that part.

Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall Full-Day Exploration

On Saturday, August 29th, I joined an English tour with my mother and younger brother. We met at 10:00 AM at Exit C of Dongzhimen Station for a roll call, then took a bus for 1.5 to 2 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Our guide, Mike, was very entertaining during the journey! It's important to note that the Klook tour fee does not include the entrance ticket to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Therefore, you will be asked to pay the entrance fee separately on the bus before arrival. Cash, Alipay, and WeChat Pay are all accepted. You can choose between the East Route or West Route (140 RMB per person), but it's often difficult to do both due to long queues for the cable car, so it's best to choose only one. You'll also be asked if you want to have the buffet lunch (80 RMB per person). Upon arrival, just after 12:00 PM, we gathered at the Mubus tourist center, where each person received their entrance ticket. After that, we had free time until 5:00 PM. I had the buffet, and it was delicious with a variety of dishes. I chose the East Route, which allows you to go up by cable car and down by toboggan. However, the toboggan line for the return trip was very long, so I ended up taking the cable car both ways. Near the Great Wall, there are several souvenir shops, and although slightly expensive, they also sell drinks and snacks. The steps of the Mutianyu Great Wall are much steeper than photos can convey; you really have to see them in person to understand. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring drinks. After meeting back at the tourist center at 5:00 PM, we took the bus back and disbanded at the same Dongzhimen Station. The total cost for one person for the day, including the Klook tour fee, the Mutianyu Great Wall entrance fee (140 RMB), and the buffet (80 RMB), came out to about 8,000 Japanese Yen. Initially, I planned to go by taxi, but since Mutianyu is about 70 kilometers from the city, joining the tour was definitely the right decision. Also, Mike, our guide, was very friendly and helpful. I'm glad I got to see the Great Wall with Mike as our guide. Thank you!

This was such a fun and immersive banquet. Big choice of hanfu, the hair was beautifully done (you can have it up or down). I paid for hair and make up but opted out of the make up, just the small decorative touches, as I don’t like using shared make-up and brushes. The overall outfit was amazing. The food was surprisingly good and the actors did well. Great service overall, I highly recommend getting VIP seats for the best views. There is a small game at the end for those who want to participate. The show is in Chinese however there is a projected translation on the wall.

My guide for this tour was Teacher Melonie. I brought my elderly parents along. She explained the history in great detail and gave us a lot of useful information. She was very patient with my parents, slowing her pace to take care of them throughout the tour. Her explanations were incredibly thorough, and she made the historical background very clear and easy to understand. If I ever get the chance to join another tour like this, I’d love to have her as my guide again.

Shanghai City Sightseeing Bus

Very convenient. Just head to the main ticketing counter. there are two, and they’ll provide you with a QR-coded ticket that serves as your pass every time you hop on the bus. Only one physical ticket is issued per group (we were two people but received just one ticket), so you’ll need to stay together at all times.
This is one of the easiest ways to explore Shanghai. We managed to visit all the major tourist spots in just one day because of this, making it a must try activity. They also provide in ear earphones that connect to an audio tour guide, along with a map for easy navigation. Buses run very frequently, so you won’t have to wait long before hopping on again.
