Fantastic 5.0
I actually booked the tour because of the aurora offer in the description. Unfortunately, until the end of the tour, the metric for aurora sighting was poor and we ended up not going for the sighting at all. Despite that unlucky part, this tour gives amazing experience for travelers who plan to visit Tasmania for the first time. We don’t speak Chinese at all, but tour guides always give English explanation in addition to pre-recorded English audio guide of each destination. If you are hunting for aurora sighting, make sure you’ve checked the possibility of seeing the aurora Australis before booking. Otherwise, just enjoy the beauty of Tasmania as covered by this tour.

We had a wonderful experience on the Tasmania 6-Day Classic Attractions Tour with Aurora. Overall, everything was very well organized, from the itinerary to the daily logistics, which made the trip smooth and stress-free. A special thank you to our guides, Martin and Mark. They were both friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the journey. They went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable, shared interesting information about the places we visited, and created a fun and welcoming atmosphere. The itinerary covered Tasmania’s beautiful highlights, and we enjoyed the stunning scenery and unique experiences. It was a great way to explore the island without having to worry about the planning. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-organized tour with excellent guides. Thank you, Martin and Mark, for making our Tasmania trip so memorable!

My friends and I chose to do a full loop around the lake on the day of our tour. The trail was mostly flat, and the scenery along the way was beautiful, featuring both lake views and surrounding forests. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit overcast when we were walking, and we had to rush through the latter half of the walk to make our集合 time, so we couldn't fully enjoy the views. After the walk, we had lunch at a cabin near Ronny Creek. If you have time, you can also take a short, ten-minute walk to try your luck at spotting wombats.

Truly enjoy the day tour to Cradle Mountain from Launceston arranged by McDermott's Coaches. Our guide David not only show us the best location for photoshoots but also gave an enriching history on Tasmania and how Cradle Mountain became a National Park worthy for everyone to enjoy it's scenary. We truly love the story of Gustave and Kate in their efforts in conservation and we understand why as we walk around the mountain immense with it's beauty and scenic view.

Fantastic 5.0
I spent eight days in Tasmania and participated in several day tours. I genuinely feel that the Bay of Fires day tour was the most enjoyable and highly recommended. David is truly an excellent local guide; the itinerary was well-planned, his commentary was professional, and he was always friendly and attentive to us. Additionally, there were six of us on the tour that day, and even though we were all from different places and meeting for the first time, we were fortunate that everyone was very friendly and talkative. The atmosphere of the entire tour was fantastic, leaving us with wonderful memories.🩷

Fantastic 5.0
The tour guide was very friendly and personable, like a living history book, introducing the history of Cradle Mountain. The private car and lunch included in the tour were very convenient. We also visited Mural Town, but due to its distance, the sightseeing time there was not very long. We had about 1.5 hours for independent hiking before the guide led us on the rest of the tour; more time would have been better. Overall, I was very satisfied.

The guides were very nice and gave us lots of information, not only on safety measures but also sharing stories about the surrounding trees. The zipline itself was very enjoyable—fast and high, while still making us feel completely safe. The guides also helped take a bunch of photos. We enjoyed the tour a lot!

What to know before visiting Launceston

What to expect from Launceston’s activities throughout the year

Launceston’s most-booked experiences are Tours, followed by Outdoor & sports activities, and demand peaks in January with a noticeable low in July. Booking interest drifts down through the cooler months and rises again into late spring and the warm summer month of January.

Best activities for families, couples and solo travellers

Families often gravitate to guided Tours that simplify sightseeing and suit mixed-age groups, while Outdoor & sports activities offer flexible options for active families who want to explore nature together. Couples will find both Tours and outdoor adventures appealing—tours for relaxed, curated experiences and outdoor activities for more active, scenic dates. Solo travellers and small groups can take advantage of the wide range within Outdoor & sports activities, which includes both lower-entry options and higher-adventure choices that suit independent travellers.

What travellers from the United States should book ahead

Most travellers here book about three weeks in advance on average, though the earliest planners tend to lock things in around seven weeks ahead; that extra lead time matters most for the January peak month. If your trip is shorter and you value flexibility, many activities can still be picked up within a few days of travel, but peak travel in January is where booking earlier pays off.

How the main categories compare on price and who they suit

Outdoor & sports activities are the easiest way in price-wise and also show the widest spread of options—from modest, low-entry experiences up to more premium adventures—making them a good fit for budget travellers, outdoorsy couples and active families. Tours sit at the higher mid-range of typical spending and tend to suit travellers who prefer curated, guided experiences and are happy to pay a bit more for convenience and local insight.
