Amazing tour! Yusuke Tanaka is an asking tour guide , he took the time to explain everything to us and did not rush us on the tour. this tour takes you to special sites that are not over crowded. can feel the essence of true old Japan. highly recommended.

it was such an honor and a great experience. Definitely worth the money. We had fun as Ai was such an excellent guide. She provided nuances between Maiko and Geiko, correcting the preconceived notions given by the movie, Memoirs of a Geisha, and being an excellent entrepreter. Umemai-san, the maiko that performed for us, was very amazing. For someone so young to be able to perform for us with great confidence and answer all of our questions, she was just superb. Our tour guide, Hua Hua, is the best that a group can have. He is very funny and keep our group alive. He constantly updates us on what to expect and the places to go around Arashimaya. He is a good singer, too! Thank you for hosting us, Hua Hua!

Did this tour with my family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide Aki was kind, informative and always ensured no one was left behind. I really enjoyed the historical facts she provided while we walked through the gardens of Tenryu-ji Temple. The photos speak for themselves on how beautiful it was. After reading the reviews I wasn’t expecting very much with the lunch buffet but I liked it. It gave me Japanese school camp mess hall vibes and was tasty. Everything went to plan and based on my experience I would 100% recommend this tour. However, I understand some people get unlucky when the boat ride is cancelled due to low water levels or excess rain, and the river ride is a huge part of the experience. Lai was a very enthusiastic guide, provided detailed explanations, and even gave us relevant tourist information after we arrived in Arashiyama. Thank you very much! The entire journey by train, horse-drawn carriage, and raft was wonderful and interesting, a rare experience! 👍

We usually prefer independent travel but felt this tour would enable us to see key sights in Kyoto, and we did. Our guide Anson was excellent. He created a WhatsApp group chat to share information at each stop so we could self guide after he shared initial information. There were only 15 on the bus so not too crowded. highly recommend. We had a wonderful time on this tour as Yusuke is an excellent host! He has a great eye for detail and went the extra mile to ensure we had a memorable time. You don’t have to know much about the Tale of Genji to enjoy this tour, as Yusuke is skilled to adapt the tour to your preferences. I highly recommend this tour if you want to escape the crowded tourist attractions! We had the opportunity to visit many spots and take as many photos as we wanted without the crowds - Yusuke is also a skilled photographer and would happily take your pictures. A great investment of your time and money!
