Cu Chi Tunnel

Explore Cu Chi Tunnels, an intricate network of underground tunnels steeped in history, which played a vital role in the Vietnam War. Serving as a base for the Viet Cong troops, these tunnels span over 250 kilometers (155 miles) and include hidden entrances, living quarters, hospitals and storage facilities. Situated in Cu Chi District, northwest of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, the Cu Chi Tunnels were built in the late 1940s during the first Indochina war against the French colonialists, and expanded during the Vietnam War. They were designed with hidden trapdoors, ventilation holes disguised as termite mounds and booby traps to evade enemy troop presence. They were also used as communication and supply routes for launching surprise attacks against enemy forces. Today, the Cu Chi Tunnels are a popular historical site, where visitors can crawl through sections of the tunnels and gain a deeper understanding of the region's tumultuous past.

Amazing go-kart experience in Ho Chi Minh City! The track is well-designed and very exciting, suitable for both beginners and experienced drivers. The staff were friendly and professional, and the safety briefing was clear and easy to understand. Helmets and equipment were clean and well prepared. The whole process was smooth, from check-in to racing time. The karts are powerful and well maintained, making the race really fun and thrilling. It’s a great activity for friends, groups, or team building. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a fun and energetic experience in the city!

Fabulous tour. My guide Ellie and her colleague were so lovely. Polite, chatty and really careful confident drivers. Not to be underestimated in HCMC traffic!! Went to lots of vegi/vegi friendly spots all over city we never would have found ourselves. All the food and drink was delicious!! In fact the last spot we were so full we had to have as a take away so make sure you are really hungry before you go on this trip!! Thank you for such a wonderful few hours!

I accidentally lost my tickets, but the staff were incredibly helpful and managed to secure new ones for me. I truly appreciated their support and efficiency. I had just arrived from an early morning flight from Ha Noi and was completely exhausted from lack of sleep. Figuring out the route felt a bit complicated at first, especially while feeling tired, but overall it still turned out to be a really good experience. I highly recommend this activity, especially if you’re confident with directions and enjoy meeting new people. Despite the small hiccup, it was definitely worth it!

It's a unique religious theme park. There are many statues of important religious figures such as Lord Buddha, Hung Kings, and God of Fortune. There is a great temple too, with grand altars inside. Some attractions are quite unique, such as the Nine Levels of Hell, a darkly-themed walkthrough, depicting torture scenes in the underworld, and Journey to the Center of the Earth, a dark ride to a subterranean world, with mummies, skeletons, and treasures. If you have extra time, or come with kids and teens, or someone seeking the bizarre, authentic, and local cultural and religious immersion, this place is worth-considering. The ticket only grants access to the park. You buy tickets again inside for any rides or attractions of your choice.

I had booked an English tour for 5 people, but it seems there was availability on the day, so I was able to join the Japanese tour. It was the perfect decision, and I felt very safe and enjoyed myself! In the morning, they hand out bottled water in the car, so it's okay if you forget to buy some. There are also toilet breaks along the way, and time to buy Vietnamese coffee etc. The tour content is quite substantial. Temple visit, boat ride, honey tea and snack tasting, snake-around-the-neck experience, fruit tasting (watermelon, pineapple, dragon fruit, papaya, mango), Vietnamese music appreciation, tuk-tuk ride, coconut candy factory tour (with tasting), Mekong River cruise (hats available for rent), and even lunch are all included. To be able to experience all this for about $30 is really a bargain 😳 The guide was very kind and full of hospitality, and carefully explained the history and culture of Vietnam. They took lots of group and overall photos, which made for great memories 🙂‍↕️ As a point of caution, a cash tip is required on the Mekong River cruise (about 60 yen in Japanese currency). Other than that, there are basically no additional expenses, but it's a good idea to have small cash on hand. Also, the time spent on the boat is relatively long, so if you are prone to motion sickness, it is recommended to bring motion sickness medication!! Overall, the satisfaction level was very high, and I can confidently recommend this tour to anyone going to Ho Chi Minh!

It was a great experience! The Van-tour with a smaller group (max. 15 ppl) is really interesting and very informative. We had a great time and a super nice group as well. Our tour guide Kyle was super friendly, passionate and motivated. He did a really good job and explained everything very clearly and detailed. We went with 5 people and all of us would definitely recommend this tour!

After booking at the cloakroom, I went up to the observatory through the underground shopping mall. Since it was only described as underground, I went to the hotel side, but they kindly told me to go to the shopping mall. At the observatory, I really enjoyed the view of Ho Chi Minh City, including the various cityscapes and the river, which showed a blend of tradition and modernity. I was able to take one free photo taken at the entrance to the VR area, and I enjoyed the VR machine. It was nice to have a large shopping mall underground.

This is the only trip in Vietnam I had with Chinese tour guide. Ku chi Tunnel is a must come attractions that will explain how Vietnamese fight with the US army during Vietnam war. Half day trip is just enough, you have sufficient time to have meal and massage back to the city.

Tips before Visiting Ho Chi Minh

1. Plan your trip around the lunar calendar

Before visiting Ho Chi Minh, check the lunar calendar for major festivals like Tet (Lunar New Year) or other cultural attractions and events. These holidays bring colorful parades, temple ceremonies, and traditional performances, but also crowded transport hubs and business closures.

2. You don’t need to carry cash

Ho Chi Minh City is almost cashless! Most coffee shops, food stalls, and shopping centers accept cards or digital payments. Download ride-hailing apps like Grab or Be to easily book and pay for rides, food deliveries, and even accommodation; there's no need to worry about exchanging money or carrying cash around.

3. Embrace the energy and excitement

Ho Chi Minh is a vibrant city that’s always alive with movement and sound. From motorbikes to lively street music, the energy here is contagious! You can embrace it all in! It’s this nonstop rhythm that gives Ho Chi Minh City its unforgettable Southeast Asian charm.

4. Respect personal space (or lack of it)

In Ho Chi Minh City, locals are friendly and warm, but personal space is more relaxed. You might get a pat on the shoulder or a compliment from a friendly stranger; take it as a sign of welcome.

5. Dress smart for temples and pagodas

You can wear almost anything in Vietnam’s largest city, but modest clothing is a must at religious sites. When visiting temples like the Jade Emperor Pagoda or other cultural attractions, cover your shoulders and knees to show respect.
