Things to do in Rotorua District

The tour was well organized, informative, and enjoyable from start to finish. It was fascinating to learn about the history and behind-the-scenes details of the set. The scenery was stunning, and there were plenty of opportunities to take memorable photos. The comfortable luxury van made the journey relaxing and pleasant, allowing us to sit back and take in the beautiful scenery along the way.

I've visited almost all the attractions around Rotorua, such as Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland, Blue Spring, Huka Falls, and Lake Taupo. What left the deepest impression were Blue Spring and Huka Falls, with their incredibly pristine water and air quality. I really loved these two spots.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Hells Gate experience. Walked through the geothermals, had a mud bath and then soaked in the hot Springs. Highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful time at this hot spring. The atmosphere was peaceful, the water temperature was just right, and the surroundings made the experience even more special. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

The entire geothermal area has been very well preserved in its natural state, but it's actually a bit boring. Basically, you enter the park and then just walk around following the arrows, much like hiking. You read the informational signs as you go. Due to limited time, we didn't explore the entire area, only the orange route. Since we were with a small tour group, we couldn't cancel this part of the itinerary, so we had no choice but to buy tickets and enter. If I were driving myself, I probably wouldn't come here.

The dinner buffet was really good, it has more options that expected. Really appreciate the information and cultural session from the host in the dining hall, we learned so much about the Māori culture, history and interesting fact. The performances are amazing too.

Loved the introduction to different breeds of sheep! had so many close encounters with deers, llamas, sheep and you get to feed them. definitely go to the farm nursery to take a look at the baby calf and lamb! so cute!! great for animal lovers! just remember to wear old shoes since there’s lots of poo around. they have a shoe washing station though so no worries!

Using the Klook Pass New Zealand was one of the best decisions during my trip. It turned out to be a big money saver. I wanted to do several activities but was worried about the weather. For example, I cancelled my Glowworm Cave tour two days in advance and rebooked another time when the weather was better. The booking and cancellation process was very quick and simple. I used the pass for Shotover Jet in Queenstown, whale watching in Kaikōura, and the Glowworm Cave in Rotorua. Overall, the savings were significant—it basically felt like one activity was free. The only thing to keep in mind is making sure you use all the activities before leaving New Zealand and check the weather so you can adjust your bookings if needed. If you’re planning to do multiple activities, this pass is definitely worth it and saves a lot of money.
