The day tour of Uluru is really interesting and amazing. The tour guy Yda is a really knowledgeable and professional tour guide. He will text you before the day of the tour to make sure the pick-up time and you will also receive an email a few days before the tour. Just a reminder, you need to purchase the park pass ($35) by yourself, which is not included in the tour since April. During the tour, they were told that some places are sensitive sites, so they couldn’t take a photo in that field because it is an Aboriginal secret area. The cultural center also does not allow taking pictures inside. The dinner offered BBQ, but the flies are everywhere which is a little bit annoying, but the sunset was beautiful! Overall is a fabulous journey!

Fantastic 5.0
Our itinerary started with watching the sunrise, and everyone received a hot drink and a snack. Since the sunrise viewing spot was quite crowded, we had to walk a bit further to find a good place for photos. After the sunrise, we went to hike the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta. It was very windy along the way, but the scenery was stunning, and we were constantly awestruck by the valley. Afterward, our guide took us to two more viewpoints where we could see Kata Tjuta from a distance, and it looked beautiful against the blue sky and white clouds.

Fantastic 5.0
My boyfriend and I were seated together, but we were assigned to the back, which was a bit of a shame since it was his birthday and we had hoped to sit closer to the front. However, they assigned our seats for us. Even though we were in the second row, we both had window seats and could see the scenery. What made us happier was that the clouds were quite thick that day, and we thought we wouldn't be able to see the sunset or much change in the rock formations. But we were lucky and saw beautiful scenery and a stunning sunset.

The Sunrise was really beautiful and the hotel transportation is on time and they will also offer hot coffee and tea and some cookies the field of light you can spend almost 1 hour taking some photos and the crew can also help you to take the photos and teach you some photography tips to take photos with the field of light. Overall, the experience is really unforgettable and the sunrise with Uluru was really stunning, you must see once in your life!

The tour was amazing and our tour guide Libby was full of energy, very friendly and informative! Sleeping under the stars, bonfires, walks and views made it a special experience. I’m also very happy for the vegetarian option for the meals and snacks

Getting up close to the rock was one of the highlights of this trip! Michael, our tour guide, is the best! He shared a lot of interesting stories and facts about Uluru. The banana bread during the sunrise picnic was so good too! 👌

What to know before visiting Alice Springs

Top things to book in Alice Springs across the year

Alice Springs sees most activity in guided Tours, with Museums a distant second; demand rises through spring and peaks in September, while February is the quietest month. That seasonal swing means tours are busiest in the peak period and much quieter in late summer.

Best activities for families, couples and solo travellers

Families will find guided Tours most appealing — they offer structured, interpretive experiences that suit kids and mixed-age groups. Couples often favour Tours too, especially those that combine scenery and local storytelling for a memorable outing. Solo travellers and small groups can enjoy both Museums for a low-cost, easy option and Tours when they want to join a guided group and meet others.

What travellers from the United States should book in advance

Most visitors to Alice Springs can stay flexible: with a typical planning window of around three weeks, many activities can be booked a day or two before travel, though the earliest planners tend to secure spots roughly seven weeks ahead. Booking ahead matters most in the peak months of September, when demand is notably higher.

How categories compare on price and who they suit

Museums are the easiest, entry-level way to experience Alice Springs, typically offering the lowest median prices and a straightforward visit for budget-conscious travellers. Tours are the priciest and also have the widest range of options, spanning entry-level guided walks up to higher-end, more involved excursions, so they suit families, couples and groups seeking richer experiences. If you want the broadest choice of price and style, look to Tours; if you need the cheapest, simplest option, Museums are the pick.
