Fun experience hopping on and off Eizan train. Despite the heat, the carriages were well-air conditioned so that was good to cool off in. Getting to explore both Mt Hiei and Mt Kurama, unexpectedly, made for great memories; we would not have known about them if not being able to ride this train and "just going where it takes us." Definitely would be much nicer during Autumn, must come back.
The Eizan Railway EE Kippu 1-Day Pass is a great choice for travelers looking to explore Kyoto’s scenic countryside. It offers unlimited rides on both the Eizan Main Line and Kurama Line, making it convenient and cost-effective for visiting popular destinations like Kurama, Kibune, and the picturesque rural landscapes along the way. The pass is easy to purchase and use, providing flexibility for a leisurely day of exploration. It’s perfect for nature lovers, temple enthusiasts, or anyone seeking a peaceful escape from the city.
The pass was easy to claim, just show the Klook voucher to the staff and they'll give you the train ticket. It was raining the whole day when we were there so we were not able to maximize the pass. If you're up for some thick chicken broth ramen, check out Gokkei at Ichijoji!
Great way to travel around Kurama and Kibune. You may experience the greenery along the way during summertime. By using this pass you may hop on and hop off to visit the attractions in the northern part of Kyoto.
Buying this Eizan 1 Day Pass saved us lots of money on transportation. Pick up of pass was easy, just showed my voucher to the staff. We were able to explore Rurikoin Temple, Yase Path of Maple, Ramen Street, Tengu, Momiji Tunnel, etc with this pass
We love the sceneries, the weather is good, the people in the neighborhood are kind, everything is superb. We rode the train twice just to get a perfect picture in the maple tunnel. Kifune shrine is also recommendable, its a perfect place if you want to meditate and find peace.
Fast processing of pass at Demachinayagi station, just show the pass when entering or exiting the station. Was able to visit Karuma for Hiking and Yase-Heiezanguchi Station to see view of Biwako from Mt. Heie
Very worth it if you plan on going to kurama. We went there during fall and we didn’t expected that we also got to see snowfall for a bit. Definitely worth it.
Easy to redeem tickets at the counter with Klook QR. Able to board & alight freely to enjoy the neighborhood.
worth it... even though end of october is not autumn yeg kifune shrine is worth visiting..the hike going up is beautiful...
